Our family of 6 stayed in this condo for 8 days in December 2022. Our kids range in age from 14 to 20.
Check-in was fine.. They don't mention lugging your baggage up two flights of stairs, but this wasn't a big deal.
We arrived about 30 minutes early and wanted to drop off our luggage so we could walk around town. We were sent a message stating "our housekeeping team reported that you entered the unit before checkin time, in doing so, we can not be responsible for any cleaning or maintenance issues at this unit." I responded that we simply dropped off our bags and we left. I said your staff was still there - so I disagree with your statement. This was a great start...
Pros of this unit - near the beach, near 5th avenue, has a kitchen, A/C works well, coffee maker worked well
Real review - kitchen has a few dishes and the absolute minimum cooking utensils. There is nothing but a small container of cooking oil and some salt. We ended up leaving paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, trash bags, clothes washing detergent, bars of soap and dryer sheets for the next users of the condo at our own expense.
The coffee maker and A/C worked great. The clothes washing machine couldn't be louder (I think a bearing is going) and it leaks a pool of water during each use. The dryer stops every few minutes.
The king bed is hard and one of the least comfortable beds we've slept in. The kids in the other bedroom seemed to sleep fine in those beds. The two boys attempted to use the fold out futon, but it was terrible. We ended up taking the cushions and mattress and putting them directly on the floor.
This property is located a couple of blocks from 5th avenue which provided us plenty of options for food. The beach is not far - but it's not a beach you'd want to go to. The beach is tiny - literally a couple of feet wide, covered in seaweed and there are rocks preventing getting in to the water. My recommendation would be to head the direction of the ferry and enjoy one of the beaches/beach clubs 1+km away.
We'll likely be in Cancun/Playa del Carmen again and have zero desire to rent this condo again - there are too many other options.
