Muy lejos del centro

Comentar que se nos cambió el apartamento alquilado (por tanto no puedo valorar el que está aquí) por otro en el mismo edificio sin previo aviso. No obstante, de forma general lo peor de este alojamiento en su distancia al centro y lo poco efectivo que es el transporte público en Italia.

Wonderful Neighbor and Host!

We loved staying in Gianicolo Hill and Milena was wonderful. The apartment and neighbor gave a great place to rest after a crowded busy day in Rome. Milena showed us where to find groceries, good food, bus tickets, and how to navigate the routes. The apartment was perfect with great AC after the 90 degree days. I would stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Lovely visit to Rome

We really enjoyed our stay at Milena’s apartment in Monteverde. The place is well situated in a lovely neighborhood near restaurants, supermarkets and banks. There is a bus that passes frequently in front of her apartment. We often took the bus to arrive to the sights in central Rome. It would take 30-40 minutes by bus, depending on traffic, and location of the site. There is a taxi stand very close to the apartment which was super convenient. We found it too hot to walk 45 minutes to many of the sites so we relied mostly on the buses and taxi.Milena was so helpful when we arrived and took us on a brief tour of the area, pointing out markets, banks, which buses to take etc. She made herself very available to us throughout our stay.Of note, the apartment is in the basement. There is a nice patio out in back, attached to the apartment. There is an elevator for those not wanting to carry luggage, groceries up and down stairs.We loved our home away from home. Thank you Milena for your hospitality!

Excellent apartment.Milena was so helpful. Organised airport transfer. Greeted us on arrival and drove us to show where local supermarkets and eateries were.Apartment was in a great location, local buses to major sites at the door. Lots of great eateries in the street. Highly recommend

Was clean but needs updates and a clearer understanding of the distance to all the main attractions, such as Vatican City is a good 40-45 minutes away though traffic,bus or train by walking. Also the apartment is basically underground or in the basement so be aware of that as well. Host was kind and wanted to be helpful with directions or activities. Best part was the outside terrace or patio which was our initial attraction to the property.

Fijne ruimte met 2 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Terrasje buiten hebben we heerlijk van genoten. Keuken is compleet. Inrichting zithoek / eethoek is wel beetje outdated.

Would happily stay here again

Sparkling clean, comfortable home, wonderful hosts, nice to be in a quiet non-touristy area to feel like you are living with the locals. The apartment is an easy 45 minute walk to Vatican City, however, the bus system can get you anywhere quickly. Bus 75 stops right in front of the apartment and also stops right in front of the Colosseum. Maurizio gave us a lovely tour of the area including a very helpful panoramic view of Rome city center where he pointed out different historic monuments and gave some historical perspective. The only con we can think of is that the mattress in the master bedroom was a bit too hard. Not so hard that we couldn't sleep but we would have preferred a little more give in the mattress. The second room's single beds were foam (we think) and were more comfortable. Milena kindly gave us a ride to the train station at the end of our stay. She and Maurizio were delightful!

First Visit to Rome!

My family and I enjoyed our stay! The host was friendly, kind and easy to work with. It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city, quiet neighborhood and if the weather had been better we would have enjoyed the patio! The place is as advertised. One note about location: the walk to the Vatican is about a 40 minute walk, a little farther than we understood, but was worth the walk. In regards to the unit: it has a washing machine, but no dryer. There is a stove top, but no oven. Thank you Milena!

Great Stay in Trastevere across the Tiber River

We had the best stay here in Trastevere Across the river from Rome. The Host Milena and her husband were Great. Giving us a ride on our first day, showing us the local sites and places to Grocery Shop and Dine. The Condo was very clean and very safe. With a beautiful private terrace.The Condo is in a fantastic location with Bus stops and Taxi Stands within a 2-block area. Take the #75 bus and it will take you to the Colosseum and the Termini Train Station. It Stops right out in front of the Condo. We really didn't want to Leave!!

Rome at Your Doorstep: A Gem with Fantastic Hosts!

We had an incredible stay at this charming rental in Rome! The apartment was spotless and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. What truly made our experience exceptional were the hosts. Milena was wonderfully helpful, even calling a cab for us since we don’t speak Italian. Maurizio went above and beyond by taking us on a whirlwind tour of the area, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city he clearly loves.The absolute best part? The bus stop is right out the front door, making all of Rome easily accessible. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. This place is truly a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!

Lovely quiet spot

We had an incredible stay at this VRBO in Rome! The location was perfect - we were able to walk to many of the city's top attractions, including the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, providing us with helpful tips and recommendations for our visit. The apartment itself was cozy and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and a cute terrace overlooking the city. Ruhige FeWo in schönem Viertel in Rom

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Urlaub. Die FeWo liegt ruhig, ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Die Betten sind bequem. Der Innenhof lädt zum Verweilen an, aber hier Mückenspray nicht vergessen. Trastevere ist ein wunderbares Viertel mit italienischen Leben, nicht so viele Touristen. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.

Magique

Milena a pris le temps de faire une tournée du quartier avec nous à notre arrivée, elle a organisé nos transports et était attentive à nos besoins, c’est une hôte de choix. L’appartement nous a permis de vivre la vie de quartier à la romaine,tout en bénéficiant de la proximité de Trastevere à distance de marche. La localisation de l’appartement était parfaite

SEE ROME BY LOCAL BUSES

Let's start with our VRBO rental witch was GREAT!!! and the host was GREAT!!! and as the location that was GREAT also, the afternoon we arrived our host meet us outside of our rental and after we got into the Apartment our host gave us a good 30 minute tour of the area so we could familiarize our self with the area. The location was great, a grocery store 3 blocks away, there is a few restaurant in the area and local side walk bars in the area that were very nice and enjoyable and by staying away from the tourist hotels we were able to experience the culture. The best part of the trip was the local buses, out side our apartment we were able to catch the bus, bus 75 took us to the Colosseum and bus 871 took us to the Vatican and from there we got on 2 different buses which took us to the Trevi Fountain and other to the Roman Forum and I found out the about the bus schedule on Google. As for the Apartment it was nice to cook our own breakfast before heading out and coming back to it and relaxing after a long day plus it had AC I would highly recommend this VRBO and give it 5 STARS!!! And just FYI if you are going to do the Colosseum or the Vatican be sure to sign up for a tour. Thank you Melina for great place to stay and for reserving the taxi that got us to the airport to come home!!!

The perfect host

Melania is the perfect host: her communication is excellent in its detail and in the quickness in response, she readily agreed to do some shopping for us before we arrived, and she arranged for taxis to pick us up at the airport. As well as these qualities, I was pleasantly surprised by how Melania is able to anticipate our needs: there was a needle and various cotton threads, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, and helpful notes.

Wer die Stadt Rom nicht nur von der touristischen Seite her kennenlernen will, ist in Milenas Apartment genau richtig. Wir haben hier Mitte Juni 14 wunderschöne Tage verlebt. Schon beim ersten Betreten fühlt sich die Wohnung wie eine Wohlfühloase und Rückzugsort an von der Hitze, dem Lärm und Touristengedränge des Centro Storico. Die Umgebung ist angenehm lebendig, aber nicht überlaufen und lässt Einblicke in den Alltag der Einheimischen zu; so konnten wir abendliche Theaterbesucher bestaunen, die sich gegenseitig mit Blumen beschenkten oder Besucher eines Kindergartenfestes, die alle weiß gekleidet waren. Es gibt diverse Einkaufsmöglichkeiten von der Konditorei/Eisdiele schräg gegenüber bis hin zu zwei Lebensmittelgeschäften und diversen anderen Läden. Wem das nicht genügt kann hinunter nach Trastevere gehen/fahren; quer durch den Parco Villa Sciarra, über die Via Calandrelli geht dorthin der kürzeste und schönste Weg; dort findet sich ein Naturkostladen oder auch ein günstiger todis an der Piazza S. Cosimato. Aber auch auf Höhe des Gianicolo gibt es viel zu entdecken; und wer es besonders ruhig mag, sucht den riesigen Parco Villa Doria Pamphili auf. Für zwei Personen ist Milenas Wohnung ideal. Absolut sauber; sehr gut geschnitten mit zwei wunderschönen Schlafräumen und liebevoll gestalteten Bädern. Gute Matratzen und für das nächtliche Rom eine ruhige Umgebung sorgen für den nötigen Schlaf. Wir haben uns sehr sehr wohl gefühlt! Die herzlichsten Grüße an Milena!

Home away from home

Great property, Milena was there to meet us when we arrived she drove us around to familiarize us with the area, told us which bus routes to take, the grocery store was a few minutes walk, we spent a very enjoyable holiday there

Herrlich, aber zu kurz

Sehr gemütlich und funktional eingerichtete Wohnung. Highlight ist die grüne Terrasse. Milena ist eine außerordentlich nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin und erklärt einem alles. Bushaltestelle, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Trotzdem ruhig, ideal um sich von dem Trubel an den Touristen-Hotspots zu erholen. Auf dem Gianicolo selbst gibt's auch etliche Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das nächste Mal bleibe ich länger!
