The good things about this house:Location, views, size, tempered inside climate, clean pool, garage parking, access to the beach from front porch, kitchen size.Things to be improved:Infinity part of pool not operational, more living room seating, toilette running (fixed by ro order).We loved the house, and booked again for next year.

The pictures paint an expectation different than the reality. Although the cover photo is a pool and hot tub, the hot tub doesn’t function. When asked about it, the response was “well hot tub wasn’t a feature mentioned in the listing.” This is a pretty good example of what they are trying to do. Feels like a bait and switch. Somethings I wish we knew before booking: 1)strict 4PM check-in time 2)stricter 9AM check-out (the cleaners arrive at 8:50AM) 3)no soaps, shampoos, coffee filters, beach towelsAll of these are reasonable things, I just wish I had been aware of the inconveniences prior to booking. We loved being on the beach but it was a bummer that the back gate was locked so we had to go through the front door to get down to the beach. We found several cockroaches in bathrooms and in the kitchen each day. It’s one of those places you just feel kind of dirty the whole time you are inside. House is on the market and they asked to show the home during our stay.

The house was not clean and photos of property must be very old. Pool was not heated and hot tub did not work. There were broken cabinets in kitchen and almost no patio furniture. Not a vacation rental for families who want to enjoy the outdoors and views. Very disappointed in this property and would not rent again.

Beautiful location, right on the beach! But the following things are wrong with Sandcastle: the heated pool is not heated. The hot tub does not work. The master shower does not fully work. Several of the outside doors are blowing open. One of the bathrooms has a clogged sink. Many of the faucets were loose or not working. Dirty spots noted on the white doors and walls. The dishwasher is broken. Two of the large rooms smell like mold. The washing machine was broken and also has mold inside it. There were no screens on any doors or windows. We did not have wi-if for the first 4 days of our trip. Southern Vacation Rentals was difficult to work with and not concerned about their customer, only concerned with making money! I hope that the upkeep of this home and maintenance can be improved for the next person or family.

This house looks like a dream online however it is not. Moldy and mildewed is more like it. The guest room over the pool had holes in the floor covered with a rug. The washing machine and ice maker have actual mold inside of them. The master bath shower head is nasty and does not work. The management company was a nightmare to work with. Ended up moving us to a downgraded home with zero financial reimbursement. Do NOT rent this home unless there is proof of repairs. So very disappointed. Will never book with Southern Vacation Rentals ever again!

We enjoyed our family reunion at this spacious house, and fabulous location. Things you should know: the main oven does not work (needs repair), the dish washer repair person did not come until the last day of our stay. The hot tub was filthy until our last day. A few door knobs fall off randomly, the hot water heater need service, the hot water is randomly dispersed, the third floor room needs TV or internet connection service, and if you plan on cooking might need to bring a few items with you such as a larger pot for spaghetti. Enjoy the fabulous beach, gorgeous view and fun in the sun!

I realize rental properties receive a lot of hard use but leaving small fixes undone doesn’t speak well of maintenance of larger things. Air conditioning of main family room and 2 bedrooms off of it was barely adequate. Just wasn’t cooling properly. Back 2 bedrooms incredibly cool and couldn’t seem to get thermostat for back rooms to not run a/c all the time. Several door knobs mostly in part of house not used missing. Knob controlling large oven missing so unable to heat properly large pizzas the first night. Small things that were bothersome but we enjoyed our stay. Location on beach, view, location to restaurants and light traffic were all selling points.
