The property was booked for the lake view, hot tub, and the big catch was the heated pool. Upon arrival, the pool temperature was around 66F. After contacting the host, I realized there was a pool heating fee of 125 per day, along with a 50 late fee, which I paid immediately.The following morning, the pool was still cold. Although the host indicated their app showed the pool at 90F, it was clear the heater was not functioning, and water flow into the pool was poor. We contacted the host at 8:00 a.m. and were told maintenance would come shortly, but no one arrived until around 2 p.m. We spent part of the day away, thinking the pool was being worked on.When we returned around 3 p.m., the pool was turned off. I had to contact the host again, and a second maintenance person was sent around 4 p.m. and worked on the pool until 8 p.m., which resulted in us losing an entire day of our stay. We found out the pool filters hadn’t been cleaned. While the heater briefly worked after repairs, it failed again overnight.To avoid losing another day of our vacation, we declined further repairs. We requested compensation for the lost day but were only reimbursed the pool heating fees and late fee. We believe it was the responsibility of the host to ensure all advertised equipment is working properly. This rental was disappointing and overpriced for what we received. There were other problems in the house, but the heated pool was the main reason we rented this property.
