Great place. Very peaceful. There are plenty of towels and blankets, which I appreciate. The host does need to purchase new chairs out back by the fire pit, because this are is super great. We saw three deer and a wild turkey every morning and many evenings. We even saw a huge woodpecker. Just lovely. We didn’t see bear; prayer answered lol. It was a nice stay. Conveniently located to Helen, not too close not too far.

Cozy and fun!

Everything we needed was provided. We also own rental properties so we notice the little things. Plastic kitchen storage bags and the cups were wonderful. Property was clean and full of fun activities and games.

Our stay

We loved it. The creek was awesome. We thought the stocked pond would be bigger but it was cute. We didn't catch anything but had fun trying. It rained for 2 days so the hot tub was used a lot. We loved the large dining room table.

Making Family memories

Wonderful Place to Stay!

We stayed for a long weekend as 2 families of 4 with 4 adults and 4 teenagers. The setup of the house was perfect with two master suites and lots of room for the teenagers downstairs. The house was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed Helen and the surrounding area and are hoping to return for the fall colors!

Great Holiday Stay

Grandparents and son's family of five boys from Miami, Florida stayed the week before Christmas. We had a great time being together and there was plenty to do in and around Helen, Georgia. The home was very clean, well decorated, and had lots of games available including pool and air hockey. We did not use the hot tub due to the weather, but we did use the fire ring in the back yard to make s'mores. The four bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the gas fireplace made the inside comfortable. The only real complaint was about the front steps. The door threshold is several inches above the top step and the storm door closes so quickly that it can catch your foot before you have time to get inside. That may seem to be a minor inconvenience, but it did cause a couple of trips at the door. The location is very secluded and private while offering reasonable access to Helen and Cleveland. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend staying at the Lazy Bear Cottage!

Great property in quiet location

The Lazy Bear was a nice cabin / home that was in a very quiet location. It was exactly as described and we all had a great time there! We would definitely recommend this property and stay there again if we're in the area!

Perfection

Excellent family home. Even though it rained the first 2 days, the darts, pool table kept everyone occupied. 3 generations stayed, house is roomy enough for everyone to have privacy as needed, but great way to reconnect with everyone. Only downside I saw was internet connection. Teens weren't thrilled. But gave us the opportunity to get close with kids and grandkids. Highly recommend it.

Family Vaca

Property is perfect for a family get-away. The creek that runs the back of the property is so beautiful and relaxing to listen to the babble of the water. Our family had plans to go to a snow resort for a daytrip but everyone voted no- they wanted to just hangout in the cabin and play games- so we did. We really enjoyed our family time. Plenty to do right there!
