Home Away From Home

From the moment we walked in at Villagoona, we felt at home! This is hands-down the best vacation rental we have stayed at. We spent most of our time outside, enjoying both the pool and lanai, which are even better than in the pictures. We fished every day, and caught snapper, jack, and other fish! Communications with the host Ruth and caretaker Steve were fantastic. We had everything we needed for our stay both inside and out, including bikes, pool toys and floats, fishing rods, and all the things needed for a beach day! It was hard to leave, and we will definitely be back. Book this home, you won't regret it!

Little Privacy

I have a some concerns with this property. First off the home was very clean and beautiful and the pool area was just as pretty as the pictures. I felt very uncomfortable the entire stay though. Nothing was listed in the agreement that we would have to do a in person introduction with the home manager. I have booked through VRBO for years and have never experienced this. It was very inconvenient due to the fact it was the next day and we couldn't really plan anything because we had to wait on him to arrive. He did ask what time would be best for us and when I told him 11 that morning he then responded back he would be there at 10. I had to get my husband to then call him and tell him we had been driving 8 hours and don't want to meet at 10... we wanted to sleep in some. He was nice but it was uncomfortable. We also noticed they have an extreme amount of cameras on the front of the house and the back. When we asked the property manager why so many cameras pointing at the entire house all the way around, he stated it was because they had instances in the past with neighbor issues. As the trip went on we noticed they were watching us during our stay. The home owner or manager, not sure which, texted my husband asking if we could move the kayak the boys had taken out to later use. It was obvious they were watching us through the cameras the entire time. I didn't even want to swim because of that. They also asked whos boat was on the property, so I knew then they were watching.

Wonderful amenities.

This was the perfect location for us. The house had all the amenities we could have asked for. Our trip was a long weekend stay with myself, my wife, my sister and my bother in law. The house was the perfect size for us. The pool was wonderful. We were able to rent a boat for the day and I was easily able to navigate to the house by water to pick everyone up. Pulling up to the dock was easy (we did not use the lift, but there is room to dock a 20' pontoon boat even without using the lift). Ruth was the host, and did a fantastic job and was gracious even when we accidentally set of the smoke detector while cooking some bacon. We were quite embarrassed by the ordeal but she handled the situation and we never felt that she was angry, simply concerned if we were okay. The appliances were top notch. The microwave had a "ice cream softening mode"! What microwave does that?! All in all, it was great. I would certainly recommend this location to others. Do not hesitate!

Stunning house!

The house was absolutely gorgeous right on the canal. We rented a boat and it was a perfect relaxing vacation. Ruth and Steve the property manager we’re very kind and helpful. Super responsive to any questions we had.

Beautiful home with amazing features

My family and I stayed for the 4th of July holiday. The picture on Vrbo do no Justice to the beauty of the home and all the fun features they have to offer. My children and grandchildren had a lot of fun with the pool, and the game room. I would recommend this home to anyone. Mike, the property manager was very helpful and friendly.

Amazing house on canal with unbelievable pool and a view

Great house. I have never rented a house that was so clean. Very spacious and had everything you needed. The pool and hot tub were amazing. That infinity view overlooking the canal has to be seen to believe. Steve the property manager was wonderful. Very helpful and reachable within minutes. Definitely would stay at this house again. Location is great. Wonderful restaurants within minutes

Wonderful Vacation Home

This home was clean and the space was wonderful! It was clean and had all the needed items for a week away. The pool area was great, we had so much fun swimming and relaxing by the pool. Location was easy to find! We would definitely stay here again.

The house its self was perfect for 4 people, the back yard pool jacuzzi area was amazing.. the location was also very convenient the mgr was readily available... the jacuzzi ....along with the app put written instuctions on how to turn on somewhere outside

Best pool ever

House was large and very comfortable. The pool was perfect. First experience with saltwater. Surpassed expectations. House provides everything you will need (except food). If you are staying longer than a day or two you may want to bring paper towels, paper plates and preferred soaps for bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. Host and property manager were responsive and helpful.I will consider rebooking in the future.

This property was not as described. The were roaches (dead and alive) broken door handles, broken blinds, the pool water features did not work. The pool table was held up with cardboard, holes in the walls, and they charge extra for electricity.

The overall property was very nice however, a couple things could have made it a little bit better! There was several cockroaches both alive and dead. The hot tub didn't work until the 5th day of stay, then it was hit or miss. The ceiling fans have a thick layer of dust so turning them on was not an option for us!

The perfect place to chill!

We spent one week in this beautiful Villa and enjoyed every moment. Besides the huge pool and Jacuzzi there are lots of fun activities like Kanus, Bikes, Basketball, Gaming room etc. It was almost too big for a family of 4. The neighbourhood is very quiet, shops only a few minutes drive. Highly recommended!

Pros and Cons

We stayed in this property March 2019. There are definite pros and cons to renting this property – read before you stay: Pros: 1. Pretty spacious: 4 bedrooms. Although large master is kind of wasted space. The bathroom is so far away from the hot water heater that we rarely had a hot shower. 2. Pool and hot tub are nice, but take considerable time (and expense) to heat up. 3. Game room: Nice activities to have in the evening. Washer and dryer were also nice to have. 4. Kayaks: We enjoyed kayaking in the canals. We saw dolphins and a manatee in the canal. 5. Stocked kitchen, beach chairs, cooler for use. Cons: 1. Cleanliness: Property owner indicated that property had been cleaned prior to rental. However, we found hair and fingernail clippings in beds which required us to wash all sheets and remake beds. The bathroom rug in the master was also filthy and full of human/dog hair. We needed to vacuum which, in addition to laundering sheets, was not what we had in mind for our vacation. Additionally, the glass dining room table, stainless steel appliances and glass doors all had fingerprints and smudges. We ended up wondering if the property had been cleaned at all prior to our arrival. 2. Supplies: The home did not have any hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels or garbage bags available. We had to buy all of these supplies. 3. Electricity charge: We were billed extra for electricity for heating the hot tub/pool. We only heated them approximately 4 hours per day for 6 days so pretty expensive. 4. The water feature shown in all the pictures for the house/pool does not actually work. The pool also had numerous cracked tiles so be careful. 5. Mouse: We found a mouse in the bedroom with twin beds. The children refused to sleep in there after that event. The property manager did not come out until the end of our stay to look into it. 6. The cleaning crew (or who we assumed to be the cleaning crew) sat in the driveway of the property and waited for us to leave on the day we checked out. Although we did not have to vacate until 10:00, we felt rushed to depart as there were 2 – 3 vehicles waiting outside the house waiting for us to leave.
