We arrived on Sunday June 1, 2025 at 4:30 to a very dirty house. The cleaners came at 4:35 and they were there for about one hour. The house was still dirty. Used eyelashes were stuck to the shower wall. A dead bird by the back door. Broken stool. the floors were incredibly dirty as were the bathrooms. Very old pots and pans. Flat sheet instead of a fitted one that wouldn’t stay on the bed. One pillow didn’t even have a pillow case. We were very disappointed with this property’s condition. Please see the pictures I have included. We believe we are entitled to at least a half refund for this rental. We ended up going to a hotel for the last two nights of our trip. We have been using VRBO for 15 years and have never been this disappointed. Thank you for your consideration.

Solid Value

This was a nice place to stay for a family visit to Washington DC. Communication was very good and house felt very secure. It was easy for us to get to most of the major Washington DC locations. Furniture is a bit sparse and the garage barley fit our minivan. The house was clean but we did have a friendly mouse visitor and one of the bedrooms still had a faint smell of marijuana.

We were in town for 4 days. The downstairs bathroom didn't work the first day, it took all day the second day to get it fixed. The downstairs area smelled of sewage and was unusable the remainder of the trip. The owner refunded 1 nights stay. We were very busy while we were there and didn't really have time to relocate. We used the place for the entire stay but didn't have use of the downstairs and had to share one bathroom with 3 women. Recommend checking to be sure the downstairs plumbing has been fixed. Also there are a lot of stairs and no bathroom on the main floor.

Challenging Stay

We loved the city of D.C., but unfortunately, this was not a positive VRBO experience for us. We were supposed to check in at 4pm, but the cleaners showed up at 3:45pm and weren't done until after 4:30pm. The house smelled like pot off and on for the entire stay. And we woke up to mouse droppings on the kitchen counter the last few days. On the plus side, the beds are comfortable, the house is spacious and the owner is responsive.

Great family stay

Modem, clean, and upscale urban. Was terrific for our needs as two adults and two teens: beds/baths for all and the downstairs bedroom has good privacy. Some reviews mention uncomfortable seating - looks like they've added a couch, we had no problems with all four of us watching a movie. Would stay again if we return to town!

Nice Location, a few issues

The location of the property relative to public transportation is fantastic. The beds were comfortable, and the unit was clean. A few issues to consider: there is a fan upstairs that blows frequently and it is exceptionally loud. It would be helpful if the host would provide instructions on how to turn it off overnight so that guest can sleep. The frying pans are old and quite warped, so cooking is a challenge. Upon arriving at the house, one of the door lock codes requires a "#" symbol after the numbers, which is not in the check-in instructuons. Also, because this house sleeps 6, it would be nice if 6 people could sit together in the living room at the same time on comfortable furniture. The couch really only seats 2, and there was one chair (as pictured in the ad), They are nice, but inadequate for a group of more than 3.

Great stay in DC!

Property is exactly as pictured and described. Great communication with the property manager. Location convenient to DC public transportation. Very clean. Comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen. Definitely would stay again.

Nice Place but Needs a Few Improvements

The place is very nice but there are a few improvements that are needed to make it great. First, when we first entered the house, it was quite warm (78 degrees); we had no instructions on how to adjust the AC to lower the temp. When we finally found the thermostat, we could lower the intended temperature but the AC unit did not respond. So we spent our stay with warmer temperatures then we wanted. An adjustable AC is a must during a hot Summer like this one. Also, there is a garage available to park your car - a very nice perk! Unfortunately for us, there were cars blocking access to the garage on two occasions - leaving our only alternative to park on the street illegally. We informed the property manager but there was little they could do about it. There is a master bedroom and bath on the bottom floor which my wife and I used. The bathroom is very nice although it is small. The lights above the sink did not work so our only source of light was the recessed overhead light in the shower. The medicine cabinet above the sink protrudes from the wall and makes it challenging to use the sink. Better lighting above the sink and a recessed medicine cabinet would make a very positive improvement. The Kitchen is very nice and has all the necessary kitchen amenities. The living room has a TV with access to streaming services like Netflix - the furniture is attractive but not real comfortable. Despite these items, its a very nice place to stay and I recommend it.

Convenient and Quiet

Beginning with a very smooth check in, our family was pleased with the quiet neighbourhood and convenient location of this home. The parking space and garage were especially handy after a day of sight seeing in DC. Comfortable beds and everything we needed! Thank you!

Wonderful stay

We had a lovely stay. The home was was well appointed and was clean and updated. The location was great and we could walk to a few restaurants or a short drive to the the museums. The couch and chair were very stylish but not very comfy. But overall a great home and definitely would stay again.
