"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. "Nice hotel. Easy check in. Room was fine. All good. Couldnt get seated in the restaurant due to other large group bookings, so was suggested ro pull tables together to meet need. Food was good. Just lacked a bit of character really. Functional..."

Very very little room, without table and chair to work (in my case) or to seat in a place different to the bed. I ask in reception to change my room; nothing else available. Our room was a very long walk from the reception, this was difficult to manage with my son who is autistic and has disabilities. If I stayed again I would specify that we needed to be nearer reception. "What a fantastic hotel. Location was great, right in the middle of it all. Room was great with loads of room. The room Needs coat hangers and some draws for clothes as we had to live out of our bags. Up date the blinds, apart from this we would stay again. Breakfast room was great as well, just get cups that fit in the coffee machine. The staff assisted us straight away when asked. All done through WhatsApp. WiFi was brilliant"
