Viking Lodge 117 by AvantStay | Ski Home, Near Town Park & Downtown

  • This one-bedroom/one-bath condo on the ground floor is all you need to be close to historic downtown Telluride, the ski area and Lift #7.

    Queen, built-in bunk bed and a queen sized sofa pull out.

    This accessible unit at the Viking Lodge apartments uses space efficiently for optimum affordability. Entering the condo, you're in the bedroom with a queen bed, 32-inch flat-screen TV with DVD player, and bunk bed with two twin beds. Across from the bunk beds, there is the ample vanity area outside the bathroom with a shower/tub combo.

    In the next room is the kitchenette with granite countertops and clear-pine cabinets, two-burner cook-top, full-size refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as microwave, toaster, and toaster-oven for complete, simple home-cooked meals. Or just toast and tea.

    Also in this room is a round dining table for four, and a sitting area with 32-inch flat-screen TV (HDMI) with Roku and DVD player. Another exterior door leads to a patio with table and two chairs, open to the shared lawn, River Trail, and views/sounds of the San Miguel River.

    The Viking Lodge has charcoal grills, and a common area laundry with coin-operated washers and dryers.

    The Viking Lodge is just 200 yards from Lift #7 and the free in-town shuttle stops outside of the complex. Town Park, historic downtown Telluride and the grocery store are just a short walk away.

    A note from the homeowner: When we saw these Viking Lodge riverside units on our first trip to Telluride, we decided to visit again and chose to stay there. And eventually, we bought one. It’s just the right size for us. It has a beautiful backyard you can easily access, just a few steps from the breakfast table. As an updated unit, it’s one of the nicer Viking apartments. Lift 7 is a block away, and the Gondola a short walk from Viking.

    - We allow service animals at this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
    - Telluride experiences "off-seasons" in the spring and fall. Many services are not available to travelers. Please check activities/restaurants/home amenities, etc. when booking these dates.
    - Please note; As a ski town, many construction projects happen around town all summer. Working hours are 8 am-7 pm.
    - Please note that the built-in bunk beds are best suited for children.

    Parking Details:
    One vehicle is allowed onsite.
    A parking pass must be visible at all times.
    If the lot becomes full, the local team will assist you with street parking options for one vehicle.

    A pack n' play travel crib and a high chair are available upon request.

    This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

    As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

    Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

    There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

    As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

    IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit.

Amazing location and cute place!

LOVED this location, as it was right off the walking trial, near the river. Clean, cute place and has a pool and hot tub too. Really enjoyed staying here!

What a great time in Telluride!

This place was perfect for our family of 5. We had a wedding on the mountain and it was in walking distance to the Gondola. It was clean and the management was very helpful to answer any questions we had. We would stay again.

Great location.

The location of the property is great and price is reasonable. The place was clean. Maybe a little updating needed. Right in the town and everything is walkable. The only problem is there is not enough parking in the complex to accommodate all cars and there were no other instructions on where to park. A good spot if you are looking for a weekend in Telluride.

Average accomodation

The property was very outdated and not very comfortable. The futon sofa should not be used as a sleeping option since it is very old and was like sleeping on a board. The furniture was really old. The unit is long overdue for a remodel. For the cost, unit should be in much better condition. I would not stay there again.

Great location, poorly maintained property

The unit needs significant work. Carpets stained, dining table chairs literally falling apart, blinds torn and barely work, window would not open, hot tub full of sand. Only positive was the location.

Great location!

This unit was clean and has everything you need. The outside patio was pleasant. Unit is directly on path that takes you to the gondola. Easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants.

It was just ok

It states it’s big enough for 4 people but I definitely would not recommend it. It’s a motel room with a kitchen. It’s just ok. If I were to go back to Telluride with friends I would not rent this place.

You get what you pay for

I'll try to be balanced with this review. This property is at the low end of the price scale for Telluride which is pretty steep. You get what you pay for. I'll start with the pros: Convenient location on the west side of town. Easy walk to the gondola (goes to Mountain Village) and to everything in Telluride. Beautiful trail along the river that takes you to the gondola and to restaurants, shopping, etc. More room for a family of 4 or 5 compared to comparably priced hotel options. Cons: like many places, no AC. Was there in mid August with temps in high 70s during the day so the condo was uncomfortable. No fan (ceiling or otherwise) and the only window that could open was jammed shut. Furnishings and fixtures are pretty dated (circa late 80s is my guess). Carpet was pretty dingy. Couple of stains on window and door shades. Otherwise a pretty good value but that's not saying much for Telluride.
