"Very happy with our stay! The house was clean, plenty of space, beautiful views of the farm land, close to restaurants and some shopping, conveniently located near Starved Rock & Matthieson State Parks, and the communication with the homeowner was exceptional! Be sure to stop at Jamie's Outpost for a drink (Roadhouse vibe). The food at Canal Port is amazing and it's located in such a cute area with lots of other places to visit in Utica. "

"Starved Rock Retreat was the perfect spot for our low-key, relaxing bachelorette weekend. From the minute we booked our stay, the hosts were very helpful and responsive to any and all questions we had, even going so far as to provide recommendations on things to do in the area so we could plan our activities ahead of time.The house was absolutely amazing and had everything we needed and then some. "The home is beautiful, with expert attention to detail. The bed linens seemed chosen specifically for each room. The views were especially delightful, day and night. We were lucky to have a 3/4 moon over the Fox River, a fire in the fire pit, and morning coffee on the deck. I would recommend this home for any event. Spacious, comfortable, and near fun things to do, such as kayaking on the Fox River."

"This house was very nice. The pool area was the biggest hit for the family. Love the size of pool, the easy in and easy out in the shallow end. There are plenty pool toys and towels supplied. Hot tub was very relaxing. Kitchen and bathrooms have plenty of supplies. "

"Good house with tons of activities to do, just in the house alone. Everything was well stocked and the bnb also included complimentary snacks and food which I found very thoughtful and kind. The host was even able to accommodate an earlier arrival time for me. My only suggestion for improvement is that the master suite's shower had a very strong/stinky smell. However, that's not a big deal and the stay was definitely a 5-star experience with all of the options and amenities provided."

"Outstanding house, especially if you like shore fishing! Worms and corn can get you some big fish. Biggest one we got was 8.5 pounds this time!The house itself is awesome inside and outside! Would 100% recommend. I have been to this house several times already, and will be coming back again for sure!"

"This cozy home was perfect for a long weekend for our family of 4. The loft spaces were perfect for our two tween kids. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch. The Harbor Inn community had a lot to do - pool, boat rentals, bike rentals, and the onsite restaurant had great food and service! We loved the location on the river and proximity to the state parks and Ottawa."
