Little Gasparilla Heaven

Beautiful waterfront location. Wonderful dock for fishing and just a hop, skip and jump to the incredible quiet and gorgeous beach. House was very comfortable and we loved the outdoor areas, swinging benches, wonderful outdoor shower, and such calming water views everywhere! Owners were responsive and kind when I texted with questions.

Little Gasparilla Dream Location

My family loves to fish, hangout at the beach and sandbars and this location is perfect. Owners made the entire process simple and provided great communication prior to check in, will stay again if available next year.

Great Family Island Getaway

Perfect family island vacation. Roy and Wendy are great hosts. The house and property has everything you need , outdoor shower, beach access, 2 screened in porches, awesome dock . Just bring your fishing poles and plenty of sunscreen

Great Family Getaway

We can't say enough good things about our stay! The house was comfortable and clean, and great views out of every window. We spent a lot of time fishing off the dock and the kids loved using the outdoor shower after spending days on the beach. We loved how quiet and peaceful the island is. We can't wait to come back!

Great vacation

Fish tales

Second time staying at this wonderful property and will certainly not be the last! Absolutely perfect location on the island. Sunrise from the front deck ,sunset from the rear deck . Outstanding fishing from the dock and a 3 minute stroll to the beach. The Petteway’s have made sure that anything you could need is on site. Can not recommend highly enough!

Little slice of paradise!

This property was so great! Wendy and Roy were so easy to work with and communicated excellently. Our stay was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for your own slice of paradise for however long you get to stay on little gasparilla, this is it.

Was very clean and had every amenity that one could need. Was a great location and beach was amazing

Great access to the beach and the ITCW. Fishing was great right off the dock. House was updated with everything that you could need. Bring an iron, that was the only thing we noticed!! Roy and Wendy were extremely nice and very hospitable!!!! Can't wait to stay there again!!!

Magical

Roy and Wendy were wonderful to work with. The home was perfectly set up and located for us who love to fish and beach, porch sit and kayak. Our first night there we had a dolphin show out front just before heading to the most amazing sunset. We saw dolphins every day and had manatee visits the first 3 (warmer) mornings. We caught many species and some crab right off the dock. We were rewarded with a long walk to the north side of the island with a tiny art gallery/craft and gift shop and a picturesque park with trails just beyond. We rented a boat and visited Stump pass where the kids were practically swimming with the dolphins. (Allure boat rental will deliver the boat to your dock for just a day. ) The layout of the house is spectacular so you can porch sit and watch the sunrise and dock fishing from the inland side and see a (distant) view of the ocean while reading a book on the gulf side in the evening, warmed and lit by the sun setting. The under side deck is a great place to grill and eat your fresh fish dinner. So many seashells and 500 shark teeth later...We’re on our way home...sun kissed and rejuvenated after a dreamy vacation on LGI. I hope to be back and highly recommend!

Fish Tales vacation - a true island experience, double 5 stars

Fish Tales is the essence of island life - peaceful and carefree. The house is very well appointed in every way, inside and out and provides an excellent location for a vacation. The owners are very caring and really desire that you enjoy your stay. There is nothing missing here.

Simply perfect

I can not recommend this property highly enough. We have been going to LGI for many years and this tops the list. Sunrise over the bay from the porch and sunset over the gulf from the other porch. No cart needed. Fishing was outstanding and the house is equipped with literally everything you could need . Thanks Roy and Wendy , we will return as soon as possible !

Wonderful home, dock, and owners!

We've been coming to the island for over a decade with our two kids and now with our daughter's fiancé and son's girlfriend. The three bedrooms helped so that the boys were in one room in singles and the girls were able to share a bed in the other and then they all shared the good sized bathroom. The beds were all very comfortable as well as the couches (after a long day in the sun, these two things are VERY important at the island - we've stayed in several over the years where you dread sleeping at night). The downstairs is SO wonderful with how open it is and facing the bay and the dock has Mooring Whips for your boat which ended up being super helpful and the first time we've used them on the island. The back goes straight to the path and boardwalk to the beach - so easy! We would shower off at the downstairs hose most days and we had a wonderful meal at the table after cooking on the grill. Loved using the two kayaks to visit our friends at the south end of the island at their home and then going into the canals. The long dock is fantastic and we saw quite the dolphin show one day! Our future son-in-law had his birthday while there and he caught 3 HUGE snook the night of his birthday from the dock (one was 35 inches). Can't begin to say how happy we all were to end his birthday in such a great way. The owners were perfect at getting in touch with us before we went and ensuring we had all questions met. It was SO nice to be treated like a 'regular' guest of the island as we didn't need hand holding (many do and no doubt they would be all over helping however they can). SO accommodating and everything is organized, PLENTY of fluffy towels everywhere (I promise this is a big deal), lots of thin towels downstairs to quickly pay yourself off and then dry them in the such (this is well thought out) and just such a warm and delightful home. Thank you both again so very much for having us!

Great vacation at Fish Tales!

Our family of 4 just spent a relaxing week at Fish Tales and everything was perfect. The Petteway family made everything easy and provided valuable information from the time of booking throughout the rental. They were even nice enough to meet us at the property when we arrived to show us around the house. The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed our afternoon kayak rides and the great fishing off the dock. We highly recommend this property and the owners and hope to return in the future.

Love the Island

First, let me say that the owners, Roy and Wendy, are great hosts! The house was exactly as shown and was perfect for our family of four. All things that we needed were at the property. The house has a beautiful view on the bay side of the island and the beach was a very short walk to the other side of the island. Our kids are older teens but I think younger kids would also love this island. We spent most of the time at the beach where shark teeth are very plentiful! We gathered over 100 without really trying! Then, starting at about 4PM, back at the house, dolphins would begin showing up out by the private dock! A few things: The pirate taxi has some bad reviews on Yelp! However, we had a very good experience with the water taxi- no issues at all! Everyone at Eldreds Marina was very helpful. Do yourself a big favor and pick up a business card for Capt Steve Hogan at the Marina. We had a great afternoon on the water catching many fish and hearing local stories from Capt Steve! Also, my wife packed the hot/cold bags from WalMart and they worked great transporting the cold foods to the island. Shopping and getting food to the island ended up being easy and was a non-event. Overall, we had a great and relaxing week! Would definitely recommend visiting and recommend staying at Roy and Wendy's wonderful property! We shall return!
