Lack of cleanliness and non working items

There was a dirty diaper in the bathroom trash, open and spilled kids bottle in living room beside the chair and candy wrappers in the bedroom. Not sure if it was cleaned prior to our arrival or not but if they hired someone then they did a very poor job! We were specifically looking for home with a hot tub, this one was not working, was low on water and smelled. I spoke with host whom was going to send someone out… that never happened. Had a non working toaster, which was also listed on site as having and we were looking forward to using since we fix our elderly mother toast each morning since she is diabetic. I spoke with VRBO site and I’m still waiting a few weeks later to see if we can get any refund. The good points was it was in a good location so easy access and was on a creek.

Not a Clean place

Showers were moldy, hot tub didn't work, floors were filthy, no kitchen towels, very little cooking utensils, exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work, electrical cover falling off ceiling junction box . I sent pictures of these problems to the property manager and never got a response. I finally called him the day before we left and explained the problems with the home.

Would not recommend!

Property manager is rude! He blocked me so I could call him to discuss the fact the place wasn’t clean. I was on vacation I didn’t come to have to clean up a place that was supposed to be cleaned and sanitized. I have a number of pictures to show how dirty the outside is and it say that if I use the grill to clean it back up ok. So why did I have to clean it before I could even use it. Well the manager got mad because I said the outside was nasty and blocked me because he said that it was not dirty. If I didn’t have my disabled son with me I would of let that night. As looked around I realized that the refrigerator was dirty, the stove was dirty, the oven was omg. I just cried of disappointment so I spend 3 hours or more on and off the phone trying to get my money back by sending over proof of the place not being safe for my family. It said online that it was a 4 bdrm cabin and it wasn’t I’m sure that’s why the was able to charge so much. It’s really a 3 bdrm he told me yeah the living is the 4th bedroom. So when I went back to look online to share with him what is the post was no longer there. He called me back to say he called Vrbo to tell them they made a mistake that it is only three bdrms well I remembered reading the reviews and someone said it was only three bedrooms and it read 4bdrms. So I don’t know if they do this to rip people off. All I wanted was my money back he charged me over a thousand dollars for one night after we agreed that night he would charged me for the night. We’ll long story short and there is more. I do have lots of pictures. At that point my vacation was ruin and the stress was real. He shows up the next morning after I called him ten times and my calls going straight to voicemail. I again calls Vrbo and they contacted him and he shows up to see. And he tells me it not dirty. Needless to say he asked me what he could do for me and to make me happy I said a refund. Even asking me to stay. So much for my home away from home. No where to put your clothes living out of a suitcase Was not my ideal of a home away from home. If u like to know more or see I would gladly share! Hope this get the place cleaned for real this time for the next family! Good luck

Do NOT stay here!

There were ants all inside. Food in both sinks. Cockroahes, one in the sink and cockroach traps spread through out home. We let them know how many people were in our party up front. There were no linens for the pull outs. The couches had numerous visible stains. When we pulled out the pullouts, there were crumbs, dirt, food, toys, and trash. You can only watch tv if you enter your private Netflix or Hulu info. We found out there was broken glass on the deck when my 1 year old cut his foot and was bleeding everywhere. The hot tub doesn’t work. The foosball table is lopsided and there are no balls for it. The kitchen is pretty much empty. This was a terrible experience. I started messaging the owner the very first night. He asked if I needed linens and I said yes. That was the only time he responded. I called vrbo customer service who promised the owner would call back, he never did. I wanted reimbursement for this stay which was over $1,000 for 2 nights. I would have rathered stayed in a motel than this. Not only was the property filthy, it was geniunely unsafe!

Happy Travels

The only problem was the hot tub didn’t heat up until the very end of our stay, he said it was working and it wasn’t. We had a great stay besides that, everything is clean... the only kinda weird space is under the back porch. It could be kept nicer. The house is nice inside, the space is perfect for the area.

Very nice place but needs a few things to make it better

The house was very nice and clean. Everything seemed brand new. Each room had new flat screen TV and the beds were nice and comfortable. The kitchen however needs more utensils and plates. There were only 2 forks and 2 steak knives!. There were only 6 plates, so if you have more than 6 people eating, someone will not have a plate. There were limited cooking utensils and no mixing bowls either. When we went to grill, we discovered there was no tank for the grill. The property manager did bring one the next day. There were no dish towels or rags in the kitchen. There isn’t a dishwasher so make sure you bring your own dish soap and rags to wash the dishes. The hot tub was very dirty, you could not see the bottom whatsoever and there was a slimy film that covered the sides. I would strongly suggest it be drained, cleaned and refilled after each checkout. This was particularly disappointing because one of the reasons we chose this property was because it had a hot tub. I usually do not write reviews at all, but I felt these things needed to be addressed for future guests. Overall, it is a nice place for what we paid, just a needs a good bit more in the kitchen and the hot tub needs to be cleaned regularly.

Definitely recommend!

This property was really pretty, clean and in a great location. It's really a 3 bedroom with 2 pull out couches in the living room and 2 full baths. It was perfect for what we needed. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating when I needed to use the spare key. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Wonderful Weekend

The house is in the perfect location and has a great layout and porch. The listing said it is a 4 bedroom but there is 3 bedrooms and the living room has 2 pull out couches. The house is freshly renovated and it is very clean! Thank You!

Total Nightmare

This was the worst vacation rental I have seen yet on this website. The only storage is what you see in the pictures. There is no dishwasher, only three burners on the stove worked(which was an RV style extra small). Had to prepare and use table as a prep space for cooking. There was only 3 small pots for cooking, no salad bowls or mixing bowls, no skillets. only a four cup coffee pot, The toaster worked but when used it made the house smell like burnt toast. Was told there was a gas and a charcoal grill, but upon arrival discovered there was only a charcoal grill which was so rusted that I would not use(bought my own while there). They did bring 2 bigger pots and a small skillet after I called but took four hours. The second day of the stay we used the washing machine which flooded the house because the "builders" put the drain hose inside the wall without a drain pipe. Then discovered the washing machine spin cycle didn't work either. My husband is an electrician and found several fire hazards which was told were "temporary fixes" for the time being but they didn't seem to concerned. There was no way to sweep the floor because they never brought a broom or dust pan that I asked them for. The king size bed was built out of scrap wood for the base which made loud noises every move that you made on the bed. Our daughters sit on the swing on the porch and felt it drop a bit like it was going to break with them. The box for the key opened with more than the four digit code we was given. All the floors was unlevel. When taking a shower had to put clean clothes either in the sink or on the toilet. NONE of the smart tv's were setup so you had to setup them up with your personal information then do a factory reset before checkout. There was no sheets for the pull out couches, and the mattresses on them was very stained. There was no dressers for you to put clothes in at all. There were several nails sticking out through boards an we also have a 4 year old son (dangerous). There were no instructions for checkout or when the trash was to be taken to the curb for pickup. I couldn't believe that we had paid that much, without the regular amenities. After all the problems we had the owner didn't even ask if we wanted a partial refund or how they could make it right. When you pay that kind of price you don't expect that kind of a nightmare. I was ready to leave after the first night, but wasn't a way to cancel and get a refund to pay for a hotel. Never again!

Vacation

It was a very enjoyable place to stay. Beautiful view from covered back porch however if you walked down to the water you saw the very unsightly garbage under the porch that consisted of old torn out building materials and old appliances. Also needs a coffee pot with a lid because you didn't get hot coffee. Overall a great place to stay with children .

Great location but lacking compared to other rentals

This is in a great location but it is newly renovated and still lacks several kitchen items if you plan to cook and there is no dishwasher. There were no linens for the sleeper sofa, not sure if you are supposed to request those so we used a sheet off one of the beds and an extra blanket that was in one of the bedrooms. Overall we had a good stay but the price should be lower since it doesn't have the same amenities many other rentals have.
