Upon a 4 pm arrival we noticed garbage was strewn about the driveway in the front yard.Not a good welcome. Also there was no heat (room temp was 60 degrees) and no running hot water. We notified the host right away who assured the garbage would be picked up the next day and a technician would be out ASAP to restore heat and running hot water. The furnace and hot water heater were fixed the next day but we slept in a very cold home and did not sleep well due to the cold. We also could not take showers in the morning. The garbage was never picked up when we checked out of the property three days later. We also noticed 3 refrigerators. One in the kitchen and 2 in the dining area. We realized quickly that the kitchen fridge did not get cold enough so switched our items to the dining room. We wish we had been given a heads up. We contacted the host upon checkout asking for a refund for first night stay due to no hot water or heat. The host told he would have to check with his team about a refund. After no reply by November 11th from the host, we reached out to VRBO about helping mediate a partial refund for us. As of this posting on November 14th, there had been no reply from our host about a partial refund. The place was nicely appointed and with better communication and follow through would have been a much better experience.
