Rustic and dingy

Property needs updating, sofa needs replacement… and I don’t think they go through and ever do a deep clean. The linens were fresh and clean, floor was clean but surfaces were very dusty, blinds were very dirty, and DVD player didn’t work.. Smoke alarm went off at 1am due to a dead battery. Vacasa management not great to deal with and this hasn’t been our first time with issues from them

Adorable chalet with fantastic location

This property is very unique! My kids loved the loft bedrooms upstairs and we appreciated the full kitchen and comfy living room chairs. Also loved the small glimpse of the ocean from our windows and the private access down to the coast! We enjoyed the beach and tide pools within walking distance. The property is clean and well kept but isn’t brand new. Some has been updated but much hasn’t. Wasn’t a big hdeal for us, but does tend to make the place feel less fresh and clean. We also enjoyed being so close to attractions like devils punchbowl and depoe bay.

A Good Central Oregon Base

This was a good central location to visit both Newport and Lincoln City. It was comfortable. The kitchen was fine for basic meals. The stairs shown in the picture are more like a ladder and could be a problem for some.

Great for weekend trip!

My family and I went on a weekend getaway and this was perfect! My only critique is that the steepness of the stairs be communicated clearer, but otherwise it was great!

Holiday at the beach

Our family rang in the New Year at Otter Rock! The A-frames are cute, equipped, and clean! The property is very clean and you can tell the manager takes great pride and effort in the little details. The short trail down to the beach is wide and clear, with benches at viewpoints and a garbage can at the bottom for anything you pickup! I can’t wait to go back!

Beach Retreat

The Alpine Chalets are a great and economical beach getaway. The cabins are old but clean. The beach is awesome! However, access to the beach would prove difficult for small children and seniors. We have come here many times throughout our lives and the value can’t be beat!

Thoughtfully outfitted kitchen, plentiful supply of towels in bathrooms, cozy couch & recliners for lounging. Beverly Beach, Depoe Bay, Devil’s Punchbowl, Newport within minutes. Loft access for agile & confident climbers only. No screen on upstairs large window, but bugs not an issue when left open to cool off space with ocean breeze. Shower curtain not able to accommodate A-frame siding in bathroom, beware of puddles. Beams from house siding jut into headspace for both queen beds - bring extra pillows to protect while sleeping. Beach access steep. Very enjoyable stay for fit family with teens. We will come again!

Comfortable and quiet

-The chalet we stayed in (#4) was quite comfortable and very quiet. Even though there were many other guests we never heard them inside. Everyone was very friendly. We were greeted by the very friendly outside maintenance man who keeps the grounds lovely as well. Inside was just as presented online. -There were a couple things like the arm on one chair was broken (still usable but broken), the nightlight by the stairs and one other bulb were burned out, and there was no screen to the large window upstairs though there were bars as a backup safety measure. I emailed Vacasa and received a very prompt response! I was surprised at how quickly they took care of the things they could like the light bulbs and were getting measurements for the other things. -The beach was beautiful with surprisingly few people on it. The kids loved it too. The path was a bit steep, but a beautiful walk. -We didn't use the firepit/picnic areas, but they were used by other guests at times and quite spacious as well as private. The whole area is surrounded by lush vegetation. -It is just a few minute drive from Newport and the other direction from Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. Lots to explore and Walmart and grocery stores are close as well. -The whole family agreed that it was a great place to stay. We will definitely plan to be back!

Renovations really needed

We loved the location and the quaint setting of the chalet. However, how hard is it to clean the badly stained carpets and fix the broken blinds that wouldn't close completely. Carpet should not even be that close to kitchen. The chalet was well stocked with needed items and the grounds were well maintained.

Great cottage for a family

I stayed in the Alpine Chalet #4 unit for three nights with my teenage children. They loved the cottage and the location. There were several really fun things to do in the area and the food in Newport was wonderful (Local Ocean Seafood, Nye Beach Cafe & Georgie's were favorites). We enjoyed the Devil's Punchbowl area and the Newport Aquarium. The Oregon State Marine Science Center was also really fun and close to the aquarium. The cottage was clean, comfortable and located close to 101 for easy travel. We were there at the end of July, and with no air conditioning (which you likely do not need 11 months out of the year), it was warm in the evenings when we would be home from sightseeing. Especially in the upstairs. We could open one screened window on one side upstairs, where two of the bedrooms are located, but the front window had no screen and bugs flew in when opened. We would open it for short periods to try and cool it down, but have to close it again. There is a wonderful caretaker on the property named Lance. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The property is well maintained, parking is easy and there is a hose for your feet after coming off the beach. The wi-fi was great for the kids. We would stay again if we return to the area.

Great location

Great location, so close to the beach. Easy to reach the beach by pathway from the property. We enjoyed the grassy barbecue and fire ring area attached to the property. The house was well stocked. The furniture was dated and the interior could use an upgrade.

Happy happy happy

The property was neat and clean. This is not a fancy place but our family of five had everything we could wish for. A comfortable bed for each person, a private beach to explore and a full kitchen. Our 3 teens had a blast and after the days activities there was tv and free wi fi! Thank you for sharing
