The property listed is the one we chose BUT not the one we got.
Although Huxley tried to make our stay a good one, they failed..
Our original house was double booked, so with less than 2 hours to check in, I received a call that the house was no longer available. To much distress, with family from all over arriving in Orlando, I had no choice but to give in to what Huxley was offering. Their "flagship" house was to most an upgrade but to my family it was far from what we had chose.
In 8 months, I emailed both VRBO and Huxley questions, concerns about the storms they had, and property upgrades. Was even sent pictures of the new rooms, which all 8 grandkids were excited for. The new house had rooms that terrified the younger ones, and some others just not appropriate for our group.
We arrived to no heat in the home on Sunday and it wasn't until Wednesday when someone came to fix it to find it wasn't even wired properly. I paid 280.00 for pool heat, that we never had, and the response from Eric was, "I am not sure why, it runs on gas"...
Huxley, I know hurried to make this house work for us, but many things were lacking. But as a family we made it work for the week. 8696.00 is a lot of savings for one week, for the house you choose, but we didn't get the one we chose, we didn't get the resort we chose, the dining room table we chose, the room layout we chose, the game room we chose.
All of these things are basically perception..... Huxley's perception is they bent over backwards to help and accommodate us, after double booking the property we chose 8 months earlier. I I know they tried but,
Our perception is first time users of VRBO, we did not get what we paid for, we did not get the rooms the kids wanted, we did not get the resort we chose. MY almost 9000.00 was not spent on what I was several times told I would love.
As a first time client I wanted to give Huxley the chance to respond to me, before I gave a review, I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with VRBO (Leam), put on hold 5 times and was finally told that the vacation was complete so they considered it done. When asking Huxley for an email so that I could address the situation, I was texted "wow. do not contact us" also told they would never host our family again... Wow! now that's professional, if they handle a customers complaint like that, instead of a simple, "we are so sorry that your trip did not meet your expectations, please let us try again sometime"
