We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Evergreen Cottage. What a setting! The house was spotless and inviting and the accommodations suited our needs. Having a canoe and 3 kayaks allowed easy access to the lake and our teens did a lot of fishing. We saw/heard lots of loons, bald eagles, and on the last morning were treated to a close-up great blue heron sighting! Only a couple of drawbacks, all of which can be remedied easily. We have already shared them with the property manager: there was goose or duck poop all over the outside property when we arrived. This is obviously a natural occurrence that can't be helped, but it would be nice to have the property cleared of waste prior to check-in and to provide guests with a shovel to clean, should the birds return during their stay. Toilet plungers were not available and are a must. The lake bottom is very mucky so wading/playing in the water close to shore isn't pleasant - we brought tube floats, which were perfect for enjoying the water without having to touch the bottom much. We recommend providing some or suggesting that guests bring their own. A float or mat anchored away from shore would be great, too! One more thing: the extra bedroom downstairs (not the master) didn't have a screen in its 1 window, so we weren't able to open it. Despite the inconveniences, which are easily remedied, we truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your house!
