"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

"Personal choice but didn't like the evening menu choices and breakfast was good if poached eggs were cooked better. Mine still had the clear egg slime on them. Staff were brilliant even down to the housekeeping. Room we had was really lovely, modern and a good size. Lots of space in bathroom and a great shower. Free parking was a real bonus. Really enjoyed our weeks stay at golden fleece hotel"

"The room was tired and Amenities were poor. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Reception welcome was far from a welcome. The bathroom was filthy with black mould marks and the Bathroom door was completely rotten. The walls were paper thin - I was kept awake until after midnight. I phoning reception 3 times to ask if the room next door could turn their television down which was blaring for hours. After the third phone call over 2 hours they eventually did at 10.30pm. "Room was OK but bathroom a little cramped at sink, plus shower difficult to sort out so the water was not red hot. Nice enough hotel breakfast freshly cooked and good."

"On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

"The room was nice & clean , a bonus was the air conditioning as it was hot weather . We also ate evening meal there which was ok , breakfast was plentiful with a good choice . We only stayed one night on our way to Scotland & our daughter & family met us there to complete the journey . What was nice was that they were able to park & use the hotel for food / drinks etc . Thankyou we appreciated that 😊"

"Great stay at hotel as it a good base for sightseeing Harrogate and other places, short walk into Harrogate and buses run very frequently. Hotel windows could do with nets or blinds and the wind whistled all one night through the window vent. My mattress sagged a bit in the middle and had two lights not working on arrival. On the whole we were happy with our stay and would probably go back."

"Escogí a este hotel por el diseño y la cercanía a York. Se tarde 30 minutos en tren desde Harrogate (1 hora en coche !). El hotel es una joya, elegante, muy limpio, con baños muy modernos y unos desayunos espectaculares. Esta muy cuidado y se muestra el buen gusto de los dueños. En cuanto a Harrogate, es menos conocido pero merece la pena la visita, especialmente por los parques, tiendas, los baños turcos y Betty's Tearoom, donde se puede disfrutar del mejor afternoon tea!"

"All staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. It was great to have the use of the spa facilities and my son loved the swimming pool. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice and the breakfast was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay again."
