While the upgrades to the bedrooms, kitchen and living area were very nice, the bathrooms need some attention. The jetted tubs looked old and dirty. I will say the beds were new and very comfortable and there was ample seating in the living/dining rooms. The condo is decorated very tastefully. We have stayed at Leeward Key for the last 6 years and this is the first year we've had issues. We have always appreciated the beach service that is included and we usually purchase an extra set. This year we purchased two sets, which cost $499 for the week (not the $150 each that was listed on our info sheet). The real issue was that even though we paid for the set up, others were allowed to bring their own chairs, tents, umbrellas, etc. and set up right on the front row, in front of us, completely blocking the view. The rules say none of that is allowed. In the past they were asked to set up in the back. It just didn't make sense to pay and have to sit behind everyone who brought their own stuff. When I questioned the beach attendant about it, he said that people had given them so many problems when asked to move, that he was told to just let them do what they want. That is never a good way to approach an issue.
The other issue was on our last night there. Someone right above us was partying so loud until the wee hours of the morning (after 1 am) that we couldn't sleep. I was under the impression that after 10pm was quiet time in the condo. Regardless, no one should play music that loud any time. Not only the music, but they were yelling and it sounded like they were hammering on something non stop. We hated to complain, but we had an early departure the following morning, so we tried calling the security number that was listed on the information sheet we were given. To our disappointment it was not a working number.
Because of these two issues that we were unable to resolve, we will be hesitant to stay here again.
