Family Weekend

This home has a beautiful view and lots of natural light - it's a very tranquil and relaxing place. The beach is so close with an access path literally across the street. There are many choices of fun CDs to play and this owner obviously loves music! The only thing is that the kitchen was not fully equipped for meal prep. There was not one cookie sheet or sheet pan, not one 13 x 9 inch pan or dish, and the fry pans had seen many better days. Those 3 items are necessary for so many cooking tasks. Our house was an hour late in being ready for us, so there was a bit of a wait. If the kitchen things were fixed, I would up the rating for sure.

Great view!

Loved our getaway at Sweet Dream home in Manzanita. Perfect quiet location steps from the beach and only about a mile walk to downtown. Manzanita is our favorite city on the Oregon coast and this was definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed. We cooked dinners during our stay and found the kitchen to be well equipped - only callout is a suggestion for a newer can opener . We had our small dog with us and she really loved the house and, of course, the beach. We were a bit sad to learn when we arrived that the pellet stove wasn’t working, awaiting repairs, but we were cozy enough using the wall heaters. All in all, a wonderful trip. Didn’t hurt that we had awesome weather our entire stay. Hope to have a chance to stay at this house again sometime soon.

Great location but had a few problems

This is a great beach house located in a lovely area of Manzanita. We had a few problems: 1. Human hair on the furniture…super gross and rather ironic since the house is dog friendly. I would have expected maybe let hair a bit but there was human hair, long in all shades of color on the sofa, pillows, chairs. Clearly the management company needs to do more thorough cleaning. 2. Bathrooms need updating, and the towels (which are white) are very tired, stained, and YES, several of them had human hair in them…gross long strands that clearly didn’t come out in the wash. 3. A downstairs fire alarm went off bc of low batteries…and yes, it went off at 1am while we were sleeping. I asked the management. Company on Sunday morning to come replace the batteries and I didn’t hear back from them until Monday afternoon when they asked me how my stay was. Clearly they use chat bots to interact with their guests and the owners of the homes they’re managing need to know that the chat bots are not doing their job. If the management company kept up with the house cleaning needs and were more responsive to guests I would highly recommend this vacation home. However, as it stands, and how we experienced the situation I would recommend finding another home.

Va-Cay Stay

No surprises with the house. Everything was as it was advertisement. The location was real good. Only issues were ants in the downstairs bathroom and in the kitchen. Additionally, quite a few dust “bunnies” in the master bedroom and cobwebs on the triangle scenic windows above the sliding glass door. Overall, the beach house provided a mixed experience. While cleanliness fell short of expectations, the charming pellet stove (although no pellets were provided), added a cozy touch. The ocean view and beach proximity were definite highlights for our family and dog. The beds were satisfactory, aside from one being squeaky. The kitchen boasted ample spices and functional appliances. However, an unannounced mid-stay visit for propane for the grill from VRBO was awkward; advance notice would have been appreciated.

Nice beach retreat

Nice house with a good view on the south end of Manzanita. The house is about a 15 minute walk from downtown Manzanita, 10 minutes to the entrance of Nehalem State Park, and 1 minute from the beach. The two bedrooms downstairs are cozy and the master upstairs is roomy.

A few suggestions

We loved the house and location..perfect for our group of 6. House was clean enough and well-stocked with everything we needed to cook..nice cast iron, too. Beach access is great and dog friendly. Living room needs a sectional couch so 6 people can relax , play games, watch a movie, etc. The bed in the north bedroom is horrible..very loud and uncomfortable. No pellets found for the stove. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. A few minor improvements would really class it up. Thanks

An awesome Manzanita VACASA experience!

Loved the cozy cabin, kitchen & bathroom well stocked & quite comfortable — loved the music CD collection w/BOSE stereo, & the WiFi & TV w/many DVD movies!! Also, a great location w/easy beach access, including an ocean view w/the sounds of waves & singing chickadees serenading us @ day…. Will definitely return — hopefully very soon! Thx!!!

Great location

5 minute walk to one of the nicest beaches in Oregon. Nice house, a little funky, but we very much enjoyed it. I would suggest the owners invest in a couple of spatulas and a set of wooden utensils for cooking.

Great location but needs some love

We had a fantastic beach vacation. It is fine for a short stay. Disappointed in quality of beds, pillows and linens. One mattress needs to be replaced downstairs . Kitchen was so packed with old and damaged stuff there was no place to store food. For example 4 spice grinders, 5 scissors, plates for 20 but chipped rusty or broken. Someone needs to clear out all the broken and unusable items. Expired food items, etc
