Checked in around 10pm, key left in a drop box in reception- no staff around at all. Booking was for a quadruple room - 1 double & 2 single beds. In reality room had only 2 single beds. None of the contact phone numbers given work so absolutely no chance of getting hold of anyone to sort the situation out. Absolutely disgraceful that 2 guests were left without beds & forced to sleep on the floor overnight. .. Surprise, surprise not able to contact the hotel for an explanation / refund either!!... Avoid at all costs!

On arrival there were no staff present, someone turned up after over an hour and many phonecalls (trying to find the correct number). When someone finally arrive they could not find our booking (the hotel was sold after I had made the booking and apparently it had not been transferred) after another half hour a manager turned up, he could not find any information about my booking either, they eventually gave us a room which was clean, but the bathroom had a damp smell.

Very rude staff, broken bed
The bed was broken so I asked the ignorant and rude receptionist to change my room - she refused and said there are no other rooms available and apparently she didn't know the bed was broken which I don't believe as someone must have complained, it was the last double bedroom available - for obvious reasons. I asked hotels.com to arrange a refund but the hotel didn't agree with that. The room was a decent size but not as clean as it could be. The bed sheets had period stains which is disgusting. The shower cap was very dirty. The hotel offers free breakfast, there is a kitchen with an oven, toaster etc. When I came to the kitchen for breakfast, two foreign ladies (one young, one older) told me that it is self service so I was going towards the toaster to toast some bread and I was told in a very rude and aggressive way that I can't touch the toaster even though they just said it's self service. I asked for a toast and the angry girl told me in her usual aggressive way that she will bring it to me so I can sit down but I wanted to wait for it and have a look at other food options - both the girl and the lady were looking at me in an angry way. When the toast was ready the girl put the toast on the table in a strong way, I'm surprised the plate didn't break. Exceptional rudness. There is seriously something wrong with the staff and their attitude - terrible experience.

About 30 -40 mins away from everything
This was a basic hotel about 30-40 min train ride from the airport or down town. With access to the tube station. Great for a one day layover. Breakfast was good , rooms were clean. Bed reminded me of the spring beds we had in army cadet camp, but they were not bad. Reception staff appears to be just someone higher to process the payments. Not helpful in suggestiING good place to eat or little things like that. But it's a budget hotel so that's to be expected

Dålig rutin för bokning
Det gick inte betygsätta för detta vistelse eftersom vi inte kunde stanna här trots att vi hade bokat och fått bokningsbekräftelse för en månad innan resan.
Det var troligtvis hotels.coms fel att deras bokningsbekräftelse inte gick genom hotellet, men det var absolut inte kul att vi fick veta vår bokning inte var genomförd och vi inte har någonstans att bo mitt i natten när man kommer fram.

Ostin hotelli ja lennot paketin kuukausi etukäteen ja saavuttuamme hotelliin henkilökunta väitti että he eivät olleet saaneet maksua. Hotellilla ei ollut perinteistä reception-tiskiä ja nuori kaveri istui lounashuoneessa, jota luuli asiakkaaksi. Maksuasian selvittely hotellin toimesta oli hyvin epämääräistä ja täysin ammattitaidotonta, Sen vuoksi jouduin itse ottamaan yhteyttä Ebookersiin jotta asia selviäisi, joka kestikin seuraavan päivän.
Olimme työmatkalla ja ajankäyttö asiaan ei ollut hyväksyttävää.
Hotelli ei ottanut minuun yhteyttä asiasta.
Huoneemme oli kadun puolella ja yöllä liikenteen äänet kuuluivat hyvin sisään.
Hotelli ei vastaa laatuluokitusta.

Fit for purpose. Fine for a night. Not romantic or anything just good for a concert in Hammersmith Apollo. Would stay again. Room was small but clean and warm.

Okay for a night, but can do better
Upon arrival at the Golden Strand a sign on the door said to check in at Saba, a block down. We were early so we were told to come back later. We got back only to be told we were not staying in the Golden Strand Hotel but a sister hotel instead. Not okay. We booked the Golden Strand, so I expect to stay in the Golden Strand. And I don't care if the hotels are all owned by the same person and that it's a chain. The man didn't seem to understand though. Eg. if I book Ibis Hammersmith, you couldn't just put me in Ibis St. Pancras either just because it's the same chain without notice so why would this be okay? Anyway, we had to walk another 2 blocks to the Royal London Hotel. There's nothing Royal about it. We got a room in the attic.. climbing 6 flights of narrow, creaky stairs to get to the room. Room was small, but clean. Beds were hard. Fridge was nice. Bathroom was renovated but the size of a closet, even with a closet like door. But that's London for you probably. It was clean. We didn't have any warm water though, none of the 2 mornings. So we had a cold cold shower. Wifi was included, but didn't work at all for my friend.Signal too weak. Breakfast was served in a basement of the 'hotel' next door. It was simple, with croissants (if you were there early), jam, orange juice, a coffee machine and toast with fresh eggs. The ladies were friendly. At check out nobody asked if we liked our stay or whatever. Too busy with people/friends sitting in reception. Wouldn't stay again.

For the price, a very good option.
Considering it's a budget option. For one night in London I was pleasantly surprised. Chap at desk was polite and efficient. The room was small, but clean and modern with a clean modern bathroom.
Bed wasn't the most comfortable, kind of like staying in someone's spare room but perfectly fine for the price.
The walls are a little thin and I could hear people talking in the room above until quite late but it wasn't too loud and didn't stop me sleeping.
Continental breakfast included too. Overall excellent value for money compared to other budget options in London (I paid £55 for a double room with en suite).
It's also walking distance to both Hammersmith tube and Shepherds Bush tube. Westfield shopping centre and a ton of restaurants and pubs and is in a safe and nice area.

Watch out got double charged!
Nice room as upgraded to a family room. Breakfast was lovely start to the day. Had no shower head on shower but that's was sorted quickly by maintainance. What ruined the stay was being charged twice for the stay on my credit card! Mistakes happen but I had to contact the hotel in several occasions. HOTELS.com we're useless as well they took payment then would not help me get my money back. Was sorted eventually after perseverance.

Allora... l'hotel che abbiamo prenotato e pagato si chiama Golden, ma è stato comprato da una catena di hotel. Non ci hanno fatto soggiornare nell'hotel che avevamo richiesto, ma in un altro che si chiama Royal (sempre della stessa catena). La stanza era piccola, ma ce lo aspettavamo (non era un problema). Il problema era che non vi era wifii, mentre era specificato che vi era in tutto l'hotel, stanze comprese, invece era solo nella minuscola sala per la colazione. Quando lo abbiamo fatto presente allo staff hanno detto che stavano installando la fibra e quindi vi erano dei problemi, ma che potevamo stare nella stanza colazione per usare il wifii o usare il computer dello staff. Noi ci eravamo portati il tablet per vedere qualche film la sera, non ci siamo sicuramente messi a vedere film nella sala comune con altre persone.
La pulizia lasciava a desiderare: le lenzuola non sono mai state cambiate nonostante fossero sporche a causa di problemi di salute (abbiamo soggiornato una settimana), il bagno veniva pulito, ma dovevamo richiedere lo shampoo e il bagnoschiuma nonostante si vedesse palesemente che le boccette erano vuote. Mio marito ha pensato non le avesse viste allora le ha messe in bella vista sul tavolino, quando siamo tornati la sera le boccette vuote erano scomparse, ma non vi erano le nuove.
Noi ci siamo divertiti a Londra, ma non consiglierei mai questo hotel o questa catena che si chiama SABA a nessuno.

Sign on hotel said check in @ saba down a block and that's where we slept..all good except promise of airport shuttle as stated when I booked was NOT true.. Smart people would ask for first floor unless u like trudging up stairs and bathroom too small but served purpose.Only ten min walk to underground station.
