After a disastrous start to our holiday VRBO placed us in this amazing home. Situated on a fenced acre lot on the 10th hole of Apple Valley golf course, the house was immaculate, roomy and well equipped. Although Lake Lure is still recovering from Helene, we found open restaurants with great food and friendly staff, along with multiple grocery locations. Most of the time we were happy to simply sit and enjoy the surrounding beauty and silence. We will return!

Labor Day Getaway

Sheepnose Valley is a perfect house for my family. This was our 2nd Labor Day stay. We love the location and easy access. It may not provide the mountain vistas and water views that some other properties do, but you can sit on the porch and watch the deer and wild turkeys and enjoy the outdoors while feeling secluded, or enjoy the beautiful outdoor space on the other side and watch golfers that will make you feel good about your game. The access to Rumbling Bald amenities makes all the difference for the kids. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the TV and internet worked well. Just 2 minor complaints: 1) there is no trash service so you have to haul your own trash, and 2) we were denied our request to have guests at the house for dinner, as it would put us over maximum occupancy even though it was only for a few hours. Disappointing, but it states no guests in the rental agreement (hence our request) and strict compliance is why the property is so nice. It really is a great house!

A great house for extended family!

The house was perfect for our family of eight (six adults and two children under age 4)! The bunk room and adjacent playroom were a huge hit with the grandkids… The outdoor space was wonderful and we loved the seclusion at the end of the cul de sac. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.

Beautiful cabin

Overall a great place to stay, secluded & golf course views. Property manager super responsive, and easy to reach. The kids room/area was perfect for our toddler and my teenage niece/nephew. Two huge living rooms (different floors) which let adults watch one thing while the kids can either watch their cartoons or play on their video games. Only two comments/listing updates I'd make - the VRBO listing amenities indicates hot tub is at the residence - this is not entirely accurate. The home is part of a resort and the hot tub would be centrally located in the resort (not near the cabin). Also, it says wireless internet is available - it's really almost non-existent and not ideal for even checking Facebook. (running well less than 2mbps down/0.1mbps up).

Lovely home

Exactly as pictured. Beautiful home with large rooms and high end furnishing. Our lids loved the bunk room and play area. We also liked the fenced in yard which gave them additional room to play.

Lake Lure house

The house was well stocked with all our needs. Situated on the golf course gave us a big backyard view. The men enjoyed getting their clubs out and playing a few rounds. The resort was a 5-10 minute drive and the kids loved the lake and the lazy river. We rented a pontoon boat one morning and found the rope swing. All in all we had a great time. The dishwasher went out the first day so we had to hand wash the dishes the whole week as it couldn’t be fixed during our stay. We also had some AC problems the last day. The management was attentive to our needs but can only do so much. I would recommend that they leave more than 2 trash bags for the whole week. 8 people make a lot of trash in a week.

Great vacation!

Beautiful home that overlooks the golf course. If you walk down the cart paths you can see beautiful views of the mountains. Home was well stocked with all we needed. The area is beautiful. Internet was not reliable in the area as they stated several times so we were aware of that. I would stay here again! My only negative was not the home but you had to take all of your trash to the resort as there is no trash location close to the house, likely due to bears and wildlife in the area. Great home! We enjoyed our visit. Thanks!

Lovely hidden sanctuary surrounded by wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Private property that is spacious, and accomodating for families, and couples alike. Plenty of room to spread out, with wonderful outdoor spaces to take in the incredible wildlife. We encountered deer, bunnies, a groundhog, and a fox; not to mention, it is a bird-watcher's paradise! The outdoor fireplace was a great way to enjoy the evenings, while views of the golfers on the golf course were a great way to start the day. The game room and separate den and tv downstairs were great for our lone teenager. All the lights were labeled, and the house was well-stocked with games, blankets, maps, basic supplies, etc. Parking was great for 2-3 cars, the "unloading" pad for the master bedrooms is a little too steep, I had a little trouble with the key code working, and the disposal needed a little maintenance; all minor things. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, the den has plenty of space for entertaining, and the appliances are all relative new and in good working order. Despite being very private, you are still convenient to amenities and Rumbling Bald Resort. We had a lovely stay and made some wonderful memories of my son's wedding!
