Unfortunately the house was disappointing The photos are not what you actually get and as for the cleaning of the property. It was gross.The best thing about the kitchen was the new oven.Bathroom new compared to rest of house. Bed comfortable.

Wonderful

Great place to visit. Plenty hot water. Power points to charge small portable appliances such as mobile phones is limited which is to be expected given that the property is off grid.

Perfect house

It was great to wake up listening to the birds while looking at the trees. Bed was very comfy and it had everything we needed. Would go back again.

Nice bathroom renovation

Checkin was easy. The house could do with a spring clean of the rafters and skirting boards. We did have an issue with the stovetop as there was only one good flame. The oven is only ok as half of the heating element did not light up. We were grateful for the fans however the kids in one bedroom were complaining as their room had no fan. We were happy to bring our own linen however I would have preferred a fully fitted mattress topper on the beds as the ones on there moved allot. The beds were very comfortable though and we had no trouble sleeping. The new floor and bathroom , renovations were nice as was the smart TV.

Property was as described however there was no BBQ (as listed) to cook on which made cooking of our food we had prepared for difficult. Hot water on demand was great.

Cleanliness

The house was very dirty inside and out. Dirt on the floors, BBQ area filthy, inside cupboards where dirty. Some maintenance required on the rear screen door.

Great Fraser Getaway!

We loved our stay at Brownie’s Beach House. Two families with 6 teenage children, it was very comfortable & had everything we needed. We enjoyed the outdoor deck & BBQ area. Very convenient location, close to all our favorite Fraser Island spots.

Very tired

The house itself is in a good location but on the whole that street is down low so there isn't much of a breeze, there are ceiling fans in 2 rooms but only 1 worked properly, the third room had a great wall fan but the 4th room that can accommodate 4 had nothing. It was extremely hot in there at night. We were unaware of another holiday house at the front of the property. They were very noisy at times. The condition of the house needs a lot of work, it was very dirty, had holes in alot of the fly screens which we had to cover with tape to have windows open. There are baby cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards with no fly spray to kill them. We were not told about bringing our own everything as well as toilet paper. We were 7 people and they only supplied 1 roll of paper. No mention of this on the website. The 2 bbqs weren't clean, the floors and the lounge had sand on them on arrival, the supplied mop and dustpan were in a terrible state we couldnt use them. Only 1 small dishcloth and 1 tea towel supplied. The owner has just changed cleaners and we did meet the new lady, she was lovely but she really has a lot of work to do and not much. time between bookings to get it all done. The washing machine is on a timer and the available time is ridiculous in a place that is tide dependant. 11am is not great. We love the island but will do a lot more research on accommodation next time.

Disappointing

House was well set out for a group of 10 , however very disappointed with the condition of the property. All fly screens had holes that we needed to duct tape up, we had blow flies everywhere which resulted in maggots all in the kitchen bin . Ceiling fans did not work appropriately to circulate air, no breeze or airflow throughout the entire house , house was uncomfortably hot and septic tank must have been full as every time someone showered the stench was unbearable , vacuum provided did not work and bathroom was not clean . Overall extremely disappointed.

Orchid beach is a great spot, house was big enough for 2 families with 2 rooms at either end. Great to have 2 toilets. Lots of room inside and out for families to sit and eat together. Easy to find key and check in.

Comfortable Stay - house Needs some TLC

Communication with owner was excellent. And all issues reported were rectified quickly. There was plenty of room for us all and we had a comfortable stay. Plenty of cleaning products supplied. The house just needs some maintenance and TLC. Some fans don’t work and there’s holes in screens.

Great place in Orchid

Stayed here with a group of mates while Tailor fishing. Loved the 2 bbqs and the huge dining table. Huge chest freezer for fisho’s and really comfortable place to relax. As a bonus, it’s not out the front and for the week we were the it was blowing a gale, but Brownies was tucked away out of the wind and so was lovely. Will be booking here for next year if available.
