Quiet and beautifully remote

We loved this ‘off the beaten track’ cottage. Gorgeous view from the cottage itself, wildlife, amazing drives nearby. Fourth trip to Scotland, and we will be back to this spot, God willing.

Great stay and very friendly hosts

We had a great stay over at Fior Sgeir. The hosts were very friendly and helpfull if needed. I can recommend this stay over if you want rest and relaxation and get away from the busy life in central Europe. We enjoyed the peacefull surroundings and the view on the bay is everchanging with the tides.

Outstanding

House was beautiful, the view fantastic. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our holiday. The interior is really stylish and also includes a small library, some dvds and music. - All in all a great and very relaxing stay.

Everything was great, the house had everything we needed particularly kitchen wise, no issues. Dorothy kept in contact before and during the stay. There was a key safe so we could get in with no problem.

We stayed here for a month to kickoff our retirement and what a month it was. Dorothy and Andy were fantastic hosts. We were fortunate to tour their croft with Andy and learned so much. The location is great for having lots of peace and quiet while also having the rest of Skye hikes and attractions in near reach. One of our favorite walks involved simply leaving on foot and walking toward Tarksavaig. The space is well furnished with a comfy bed, a great tub/shower, and with all the supplies we needed to cook meals. It felt like home right away. We highly recommend!

Just wonderful

We had a wonderful week at Fior Sgeir. The cottage is in an amazing location with stunning views and has been furnished with so much careful attention to detail. We also loved exploring locally around the Sleat Peninsula. Thank you so much for a fabulous week!

Perfect retreat

Everything about the cottage was perfect for us. It is comfortable, warm and well equipped and it certainly does have glorious sea and mountain views. We were so lucky to have 5 days of sun, no rain and clear skies in the second half of April and the sunsets and starry nights were outstanding. Dorothy and Andy are very friendly and helpful.

Haus mit sehr guter Atmosphäre

Ein Platz zum entspannen. Ein sehr angemehmens, gutes Ferienhaus mit netten und hilfreichen Eigentümern nebenan. Es lohnt sich auch die Umgebung zu erkunden, neben den touristischen Highlights auf Skye - z.:B, ein Trip mit der Drehfähre nach Gleneg von Klyerhea aus. A good place to be! Restful Stay on Isle of Skye

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay here as part of our honeymoon to Scotland. The Croft was beautifully appointed inside with all the things we could need for a relaxing few days. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom modern, and the kitchen/living area very cozy (with an amazing wood stove). The views out of the property are amazing and Dorothy and Andy were incredibly lovely hosts. We will happily return to Fior Sgeir Cottage in the future and are already looking forward to it!

Traumhaftes Häuschen auf der Sleat-Halbinsel

Wir haben eine Woche in Dorothy's Haus auf der Halbinsel Sleat verbracht. Das Häuschen ist sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet alles, um sich wohlfühlen, auch wenn das Wetter mal nicht mitspielt. Von der Terrasse und durch das Panoramafenster hat mein einen traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Besonders geschätzt haben wir auch die Ladesäule für unser E-Auto.

Paradise for nature and Skye lovers

We had the absolute pleasure to spend one week in this wonderful cottage offered by Dorothy and Andy on the beautiful Sleat peninsula. The cottage is a perfect size for two people, the bed very comfortable with a good mattress and the kitchen excellently equipped for preparing your own meals. The view over to the Cuillins is stunning. We were very lucky with the weather so could enjoy all Sleat but also Skye in general had to offer which is plenty- we definitely have to come back. A boat trip with Misty Isle Boat Trips from Elgol was one of our highlights.

Great time on Sleat

We really enjoyed our time we spend in this cozy and stylish cottage on the shores of Sleat/Isle of Skye. The house is very modern and fitted with everything you might wish for, when spending some calm days in these beautiful surroundings.. everything is very clean and orderly arranged. However. What we didn’t like where the check-in and check-out times….The check-in was too late (16h) and the checkout time was too early (10h) to enjoy the whole day over there. That definitely should be changed in favour of future customers. all in all we strongly recommend this place.

Lovely Days in Tocavaig

We enjoyed everything. The way to the cottage was a real advanture and a lot of fun, driving on a single road track. The arrival then was stunning. The cottage is just lovely. Very clean, everything works perfectly, the view is amazing and most important everything gets dry and warm again with the fire place. Tours around the cottage in tocavaig are beautiful. We started right infront of the door. I stop writing here, because there is no end. We can highly recommend the cottage. Thank you so much.

From Ipswich To Skye

A great many visitors to Skye will probably keep to the main roads and touristy locations, but they will miss the true heart of the island. It was purely by chance that we stumbled across this self-catering cottage ... and thank goodness we did. Such a charming location with the advertised sea and mountain views well to the fore. Perhaps we were lucky in the amount of sunshine we experienced, but it certainly made the difference, as the couple of days that were less than clement made us well aware how bleak the landscape could become. The sunshine, though, brought out the jewel that is Skye and we will treasure the brief spell we had as guests of Dorothy and Andrew; thank you

Amazing Place

We’ve had five nights in this cottage. We where surprised about the landscape driving towards the cottage; lakes, hills and sea. We saw sheep cows and deer. The cottage was a perfect gift to explore the Isle if Sky. Wood for the fireplace, wine on the table and fresh made cake. We where a bit early but very welcomed by Dorothy and Andy. The view looks like a moving painting. I have never seen so many stars in the sky. We went to bed before 9 and slept till 7 like a baby. We lived the history of the oldest castle of sky we tried to see otters but we where blessed to see many birds. There a lots of suggestions you can do ehich you can find in a lot of books and travel magazines. We’ve find out when you recicle you can spare a lot of waste. We had amazing wetter and did many hikes. We will defenetly come back to this beautifull place.
