The house is nice - the kitchen is well stocked - everything you would need for cooking and reasonably high end things - like a good, sharp chef’s knife, and a coffee frother. There were standard spices and oil/condiments left from other guests that filled some gaps in what we brought - I wouldn’t count on them to have everything, but it was a great backup. The beds were comfortable, including the pull out sofa which has a memory foam mattress that the person who slept on it said was comfy. The insulation between the bedroom with the king bed (not the master as it’s not the one with the en-suite bath) and the bedroom above it is not good - my kids were sleeping upstairs and they like to wake early and play video games with their friends and you could clearly hear the conversation coming in through the floor, but we didn’t hear any outdoor or traffic noise. The tv has an Apple TV and was easy to hook up to stream.
I took off one star because it’s got a checkin/checkout time of 4pm to 10am, which is pretty ungenerous, even in covid times other places I’ve stayed have been 10-3, and had some flexibility. We got there at 3:20pm and the place was clearly ready and standing empty, and my 8yo really needed the bathroom, but we were told by the call center that the lock code would only start working at 4pm. I’m not even sure it was true because when we did finally get in, the code we had been sent was wrong, and we had to wait again on the phone (not long, fortunately) while that was cleared up. I had also requested late checkout well before the 24 hour notice they ask for but never heard back from “the on-site team” about that - but to be fair we only got out at 11am (though it felt like 10am since it was daylight savings day) and we weren’t chased out.
You also have to take your garbage out when you leave, which is fairly standard for Vrbo, but the bins are quite a distance from the property.
The location was good - we were there with little kids and wanted to go sledding. The big sledding places are more in south Tahoe, but we headed to “Sledding Hill” in North Tahoe Regional Park. The big hill was empty of snow this late in the season but we walked in past the zip line course and found, near hole 12 of the frisbee golf course, a wonderful hill that we had almost to ourselves for both days we were there. Totally recommend it especially if you have inflatable tube sleds - it’s just a 15 minute drive from the property.
