This pristine home was absolutely perfect for our family trip with our two adult sons. It was our second time staying in Haena, and our first time at this home. The abundant windows, and gorgeous views allowed us to enjoy the beautiful North Shore of Kauai at all times…while cooking dinner, relaxing on the Lanais, and even laying in bed! High quality linens, comfortable beds and furniture, a well stocked kitchen, and the friendly and prompt management team were all greatly appreciated. The owners provide an informative guidebook, with great dining recommendations. We hope to come back to this home again and again.

Haena review

All was wonderful until our last night when electricity went out. According to neighbors, this is a common occurrence. Nothing was said that this might happen and we only had one working flashlight, which didn’t do much to light the house. It would’ve been nice to know about this and to have working battery operated lanterns, and know where to find them.

Gorgeous home, perfect location

The house is beautiful- looking at the mountain. Large, with lots of space for our group of 6. Gorgeous outdoor dining and grill - we had all our meals outside. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Property manager was helpful and communicative. Best location! 2 minute walk to the beach. 5 minute drive or 20 minute beach walk to Tunnels Beach.

Amazing property

The photos don’t do it justice. Open and airy with comfy lanai seating out facing mountains or in back listening to surf. So well equipped- there was nothing this house didn’t have. Really impressed with rental agency as well. They hooked us up with concierge service to help cater a family anniversary celebration. Walking to the beach each morning was another plus. I don’t hesitate one moment in booking this place if you are looking for relaxation and beauty a bit off the main tourist path.

An absolutely wonderful house in tropical location. The house is well stocked with everything you would need. They’ve thought of everything with all the little extras. The views of the mountains are breathtaking. The beach is a short walk / drive away. Tunnels Beach is amazing with fantastic snorkeling on the reef. This house is a little remote which we loved. Town is a short drive away with shops and restaurants. If we’re ever lucky enough to return to Kauai, we would definitely stay here again.

Tranquility on North Shore

We loved the location of this house. We went back and forth from lanai to lanai because the views were so splendid from both. You’ll love the mountain views in the mornings as the light comes up on them. We took the short path to the beach each day. Easy walk to Tunnels Beach as well (15 min walk). The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. So much living space indoors and out! The beach chairs came in very handy as did the outdoor shower for rinsing off sand. We shall definitely return. Property Management was very communicative and made sure we had all details before and during. Much appreciated. If you are considering this property, please review where Haena is on the map. It’s extra convenient for the most beautiful beach on the island as well as hiking the Kalalau trail but you’ll be driving a lot if you intend to go to Canyon or boat tours from this side of island. We stayed on both sides so we could do it all without driving all the time. Mahalo for sharing your beautiful home.

Exceptional House in Haena

The home was well kept, clean, and breezy. Fantastic swimming spots just a short walk away. Loved the outdoor shower, the comfortable beds, the quiet nights, and the kitchen/BBQ was more than adequate for cooking at home each night. Don't miss the Dolphin Fish Market in Hanalei and the local farmers' markets.

Perfect Kauai getaway on the North Shore

If your looking to stay on the greener/tropical side of the island, look no further! Spectacular views of the mountains, with a quick short, cute walk to the beach with the BEST sunsets. House has everything you need and more. Floor fans were much appreciated to help move the air through the house when there was no wind. Outdoor shower was amazing and perfect to rinse the sand, shoes and toys. The decks were spacious and provided lot of opportunities for making memories during family game nights. Little details like beach chairs, sand toys, beach towels, bug spray, etc. did not go unnoticed. Hanalei is a 15 minute drive into town and has some great food and yummy shaved ice. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for helping this first time Kauai family fall in love with your beautiful island!!

Perfect Get Away

We loved staying in the Haena house on the North end. The house had everything we needed for our time together as a family. We loved having coffee on the lanai and viewing the mountains. Our favorite beach (Tunnels) was close by. We discovered the beautiful gardens to visit down the road and local market. Hana lei was a short drive for restaurants and shops. Perfect get away!

Beautiful stay in the best part of the island!

We absolutely love it here. It is our 4th time staying in the neighborhood and we will be returning. The views from every window of the house were amazing. A few minute walk down small path leads the beach for a quick sunset or a 15 minute or so walk to Tunnels. The house was perfect for two couples and we had everything we needed. Just wish we had stayed longer!

Great week at Haena Sunrise

The home was as described and provided an excellent base for our stay on Kauai. The kids enjoyed exploring the tidal pools on the beach and petting the horse grazing next door. A couple of warnings however. This house is literally 2 miles from the end of the road on the north shore. 15 minutes to Hanilei and over an hour to Lihue. 2.5 hours to Waimea canyon. Also the beach here is interesting and fun but not really for swimming. Lastly the neighbors between the house and the road held a noisy outdoor party Friday night that lasted until 3 AM. Regardless we are glad we stayed here and had a great time.

Loved our stay

The house was a perfect size for a larger group, we never once felt overcrowded. The location was a bit far from the activities we had planned (hiking Waimea) but overall we loved it because it brought us to the north side of the island which we would not have explored otherwise. Covid definitely restricted a few plans, but it was easy to adapt to other options with the wide variety available close to home. The walkable beach was amazing! We brought our morning coffee down there everyday and we’re lucky enough to see some beautiful rainbows as well. All basic necessary amenities were provided, including beach gear which is always a great addition. Overall, great experience and we’d definitely stay here again!

October 2021 stay

We had a wonderful stay at Haena Sunrise. The place has a great view of the mountains. We enjoyed our mornings out on the lanai. Tunnels beach is a short walk away. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Hanalei, but close enough to go into town for meals. Great stay! We would love to go back!

Wonderful Welcome Back to Haena!

I love this house. I will always return to this wonderful, comfortable, inviting home. It is beautifully furnished, both inside and out, and has all of the amenties any traveler can wish. It easily accommodates up to 6 guests, and is as comfortable for entertaining as it is when returning from a long day of sightseeing. There are two comfortable lanais, so there are always breezes surrounding this home. I look forward to being here next year! Mahalo.

Wonderfully comfortable home, lot location not the best.

We enjoyed our stay here overall. The location is great if you want to experience the more laid back north side of Kauai. The home is very comfortable and clean and the owners seem quite attentive. My only disenchantment centers on the lot location. The view proved disappointing versus my expectations from the photos. The lot is set back from a busy road. The lot in front was under construction and not attractive. Also, concerning for future renters is what might be built there. And the home on the side looked like a car lot and I am sure is disappointing to the owners. These location issues kept me from giving the home a higher rating.
