"A very nicely refurbished cottage with all necessary equipment and appliances. 50 metres walk to the mostly deserted beach. Not much to do in Powfoot itself, so driving is essential. Caravan park cafe very good and Powfoot hotel good if you don't have a dog."

"Clift Hill is a fabulous place to stay. We were a group of 20 friends and family and we loved the house. It's extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable. It has impressive rooms and views but it also feels very homely. The kids (aged between 4 and 11) had a brilliant time exploring the house and gardens, playing with the games and outdoor play equipment and taking over the hot tub."

"Located in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with well cared for lawns. Parking was a little tricky to find as the driveway next to the residence is off limits. Plenty of room for 3 people inside. It was inconvenient to learn there were no kitchen supplies (salt, pepper, cooking oil) as we’d booked it with the intention of using the kitchen right away. Easily righted with a trip to the store."

"This was an extremely nice townhouse, with very comfortable furniture. There is a full-size sofa and an armchair in the lounge. The kitchen was well-appointed, and there is a washer/dryer combo unit. There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs. The bath has a large tub/shower, and plenty of counter space. The owner is very nice and was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Lovely house with nice rural views, very nice little village but a little to quiet with no shops at all, closest very general store 3 miles away, so be prepared with provisions for your stay, this didn’t spoil our stay as we had gone to investigate the area anyway and the weather stayed fine for us, a good restorative break."

"Our group of 11 had a great time in Dumfries and environment. The house was perfect for our extended family to gather and enjoy four days/five nights together. There was generous space for all of us to have meals as a group and spend time lounging together in the living room in the evening, but also for people to have some quiet time.
