"This was the second time that I have stayed here. The hotel is well worn - don't expect a new out-of-the-box chain hotel - but the staff are excellent and the view is superb. To sit at breakfast and look out over the bay cannot be matched by hotels in Lancaster or on the motorway. It's not much more than 15 minutes by car from the M6, parking is free and the sea is just over the road."

"I stayed here with my partner and 2 young children. We booked a room with two double beds - this was perfect. What really impressed me about the hotel was the extra details everywhere to make it really welcoming and easy for families. Toys, games, high chairs, ramps and accesible options - and even some secret doors for elves & fairies hidden around the place. "Room was average for the price paid but overall looked tired. Very old pub and traditional rooms but that’s no reason to ignore mould and damage to the bathroom and paint flaking off the walls. Light fitting was hanging off by exposed wires. In the evenings the pub downstairs is busy with a lot of noise heard upstairs until about midnight. "

"Overall the stay was fine, nothing alarming. Hotel looked really nice as we entered. However, the quality and standard of rooms were below expectations of a high reviewed/ star hotel. One example being the bathroom, shower heads were not consistent in the water pressure and so caused a lot of spraying all across. "Lovely clean rooms, great shower! Very doggie friendly. Roaring fires and beautiful food. 10oz steak and peppercorn sauce cooked to perfection. The Coffee and tiramisu sundae exceptional. We will be back!"
