Our view in the morning over the Athabasca Glacier.

The Icefields parkway has to be one of the ‘must-do’ drives to experience in a lifetime. Along the way you’ll come across the Athabasca Glacier where you can take an organised trip onto this natural wonder which is unfortunately disappearing.

Stopping at the discovery centre near the glacier you can take an organised tour up onto the ice field. A once in a lifetime experience. These massive vehicles carry you there safely giving you time to explore the ice.

It had been pouring rain so we waited out the weather hoping it would clear up enough to see the mighty Athabasca Glacier and mountain, located along the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park. Just as we were running out of time, the clouds cleared and for a brief few moments, the sun came out just long enough to snap this picture.
