Cozy cottage in the woods
This adorable cottage is set back from the road, up a private lane. At night it felt a bit creepy because there weren’t any folks in the neighboring homes… so it was quite dark. It rained every day we were there but we still enjoyed our visit very much.
The sun porch is wonderful. I enjoyed sitting there reading one afternoon. The bedrooms upstairs were big enough to accommodate our luggage. Both bedrooms had fans to help move the air, as we visited during the unprecedented heat wave of June 2024. The only thing that would have made it more comfortable was to have a window AC unit - but it’s important to note that this was not a usual occurrence.
The full bathroom is downstairs and was just the right size for our family of four. The water gets hot quickly but given the house is on a well, it’s important to conserve water.
The kitchen was well-appointed with every gadget or dish you might need including a toaster oven and coffee maker. We liked being able to sit together in the kitchen while I cooked. We were able to make some yummy meals in the cottage!
We visited the Five Island Lobster Co. We also went to Reid State Park and climbed on the rocks. If you are feeling adventurous, I recommend the hike out to Squirrel Point lighthouse as well.
Sheri is the manager and she was hands-down, 100% the best person I’ve ever dealt with for a vacation rental company. She helped make our stay a very pleasant one!
