We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and discovering Grand Canyon before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are always good options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your highest priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are quite common. Flat, slightly roomy shoes work well.
- Most travelers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to minimize your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
