All the small details are done well. The cottage was very deep clean. All the appliances work great. The shower is hot and has plenty of pressure. The area is whisper quiet and close to tons of fun things. We tossed a frisbee around the huge yard, went to Cloquet, Duluth and the shore, Jay Cooke, the candy store, etc. The hosts were great as well. Will totally stay again!

Wonderful stay! Mike and Andrea are amazing hosts and truly care about their guests! We had the pleasure of visit with Mike a few times and think the world of him. Great location close to Jay Cooke State Park and not far to surrounding areas. Property was spotless, quiet and great neighbors. Perfect for a couple or small family. Can’t say enough great things about our stay, hosts and people of Minnesota.

We had a wonderful time exploring the area and didn't realize how beautiful it was. We loved the swing bridge area. We spent a lot of time doing crafts, while the guys went fishing and golfing. It was a very relaxing four days.

Pet Friendly, adorable little cottage. Beds were comfy. They had all kinds of outdoor stuff to use. They even provide an open fire cooking setup at the fire pit. Loved the area scenic and calm. Super close to Duluth and superior but out of the way enough that you don’t have a city feel. Close to all kinds of trails and the river. Loved the serenity with all the comforts of home! They provide lots of DVDs and the player and TV. Worth staying at! Super easy check-in and check out. The hosts are great communicators and return messages very quickly. It was a great trip and I hope to stay again!

It was a nice place with pretty good privacy. The road was a little busy with cars at times but we were out and about more than there so it wasn’t much of a bother. We did have a fire one night which was a good way to relax after a day of hiking in Duluth. Great communication from the property owners!

Mike's place is the perfect location for access to Jay Cooke State Park, the Munger Trail, even a day trip into Duluth. The cabin is pretty close to the road, but there was hardly any traffic at all. I would say that it is more ideal for 2-4 people rather then our 6. The bedrooms are really tight if you have a pack and play or air mattress for kids and the dining area is small. But everything was clean and pleasant and we had a great stay!

The property was cozy and clean! Also great location to Duluth but far enough away from the hustle and bustle! The property managers were very welcoming and very helpful! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone else!

Good access to Duluth and Carlton County

Clean and comfortable. Kitchen is perfectly adequately equipped. Nice coffee maker. Comfortable beds. Hot water heater could use more capacity so stagger shower times.

Best vacation!

The property location, atmosphere and hosts made it one of our best trips.We enjoyed the ease of accesing Jay Cooke and the munger trail and we enjoyed our evenings returning back from Lake Superior. The hosts went above and beyond; and they made our trip fantastic. We would highly recommend this rental. Thank you.

Exactly What We Needed

We loved staying in this very clean and quiet cottage. The beds are comfortable, the living area is spacious as is the bathroom,. It's a great location! Jay Cook park offers many trails. We spent time in Duluth and Two Harbors, too. Both are easy drives from the cottage.

Gorgeous Clean Stay Near Duluth

One of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Super duper clean, convenient to Duluth and local attractions, and truly superb hosts. Very prompt and thorough with communication. We are so glad we got to get away at this little gem.

Northern Cottage

A great stay, and we weren’t even there long enough to enjoy the huge yard, with room for any number of yard games and with a fire pit! Mom and 9- year old son in one room, young couple with baby in a pack & play in the other, and “old auntie” on the futon- worked perfectly. Room to play table (card) games after dinner, kids to sleep in rooms early so there was grown-up visiting time, a very comfy stay. I will definately book again when we are up in that area. Oh, and so convenient to all of the tourist & park stuff in Duluth & surrounding area- thank you hosts for providing some thoughts for that! Easy, quick access to Duluth and north shore, yet back to the woods and stars for the night at “home”- the best of both worlds!

Great cabin close to Duluth

This cabin was the perfect place to be out in the woods and have privacy but still close enough to drive to Black Bear casino or up to Duluth or Two Harbors for the day. Everything was very clean, well-kept, and Mike and Andrea were very helpful and did a great job communicating with us so we knew what to expect. We hope to come back again!

Easy to get to, feels remote!

We had a great time in this cozy cabin! It rained when we may have been outside so we didn’t get to use the fire pit but it was nice to have a comfy place inside to cook and recover after a long day of hiking and exploring. We knew it was close to Jay Cooke but it’s ridiculously close! Super convenient without the hassle of staying in the park. Owners were super responsive throughout as well! Highly recommend.

Quick getaway

My partner and I stayed here for two night just to get away from the cities for a birthday. It was very clean and comfy! The communication from the owners was amazing and also included so many great recommendations!! The property wasn’t quite as private as I expected (immediate neighbors) but that also could have been due to the trees not being filled in. Still a great stay and we would return :)

Very nice cabin, great owners!

We had to come to town for a family emergency and Mike and Andrea were great! I met Mike when I got there since I was early and he was extremely helpful. I drove 22 hours straight and Mike let me get in early and gave me some good information on some restaurants and things in the area. Andrea had communicated with me the night before about the weather and some other information and they were both very helpful! Cabin was neat and clean. Very cute little place. Would stay again if the opportunity presents itself!
