Wonderful views!!! Private setting. House and property layout was very convenient and comfortable. We really enjoyed all the wildlife. Our first few evenings we were blessed to see a Fox, wild turkeys, and a bear. Would have given 5 stars in all categories but only gave 4 in a few because of no shades/curtains on front and deck doors for privacy at night, the smell of dirty hair odor on a lot of the bedding and the back of the house itself, and it was an annoyance to constantly have to take our shoes off to walk on the already stained carpet. Especially after two of us stepped on nails that had come through the carpet. Taking off shoes was not noted in the property description. Other than those 4 star mentions we had a great time and God willing will most certainly plan to stay again.

Peaceful and still close to Durango

Our communication and check in process was easy. The host was great to work with. The house had everything we needed. The back deck had wonderful views and the wildlife we saw (Deer and Turkeys) was so awesome. We thought the location was perfect as we were just a bit outside of downtown Durango but it was so easy to get to the town. Being able to enjoy the town as well as the peacefulness of the home made for an enjoyable stay.

SW Colorado Summer Escape

Really wonderful all the way around. It was everything our family needed and then some. Great property, comfortable beds, easy check-in and out, quiet area, terrific views, and close proximity to so many places. Morning coffee out on the back deck with the sunrise, deer, and birds was both peaceful and beautiful. We hope to be able to return very soon.

Wow— my husband, myself, our 2 kids (6 & 8), and my mom stayed at this lovely property for 4 nights. I totally want to come back!! I woke up each morning and caught the sunrise on the back deck— breathtaking. The kids loved exploring the property daily— we saw so much wildlife, climbed some rock walls, walked along the creek bed, hiked, and took in the views. The house itself is so homey, and was equipped with everything we needed to cook and stay comfortable. The property is the perfect distance to downtown Durango, where we ate, white water rafted, went horseback riding, shopped, and caught the steam engine to cascade canyon. EPIC! We also took a day trip (30 minute ride!!) to Purgatory Resort for a fun filled day. We would love to come back here again, for SURE!!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay.

This is a great place to stay! The owners were very kind and responsive to texts. You’ll see turkey, deer, and unbeatable scenery. Definitely a spot we’ll bookmark to return to.

Would stay here again

As we have aged it seems that it is getting harder to find a rental in the area that is one story. We enjoyed the location and the house was perfect fir us. The wild turkey visits were fun to watch. We would love to stay here next fall.

Dirt bike escape

We have been going to Durango for 3 years to ride dirt bikes in the mountains. This place was great because there was plenty of room for sleeping and dinners but having access to the garage to store the bikes at night was awesome. Everything worked at the house and it had all the necessary equipment to make breakfast for 5 guys before we headed ride. We would stay there again. Enjoy.

Beautiful home in a gorgeous location!

My family and I loved the home and everything about it. It has all the conveniences of home, a beautiful view off the deck of the mountains and is a short 12 minute ride into Durango.

Great Stay

We enjoyed staying here. Very nice place with a secluded feel and the location was great. Our favorite thing about the place (since we had our toddler with us) was the single floor layout and the easy access (no steps to enter or steep drop offs around the property). It made for a relaxing trip and we would stay here again.

San Juan Mountain Home

This was a very special return to the Durango area for me after almost 50 years since attending Ft Lewis College. We looked for a property convenient to Durango and to the spectacularly scenic San Juan Mountains for day excursions, while also offering a peaceful and comfortable setting at days end. All reviews for this property stressed the beautiful views from the back deck and I can only add how much we enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck watching the sun rise over the Animas River Valley and disappear over the western mountains at night. The small gated community ensures privacy and peaceful quiet. The house was beautifully appointed with all possible conveniences. The very comfortable beds and cool quiet mountain air made for very restful nights. We took full advantage of all the outdoor adventures offered in this unforgettable region of Colorado: hiking, biking, high mountain basin jeep tour, driving the scenic Million Dollar Highway to Silverton and Ouray (or save the driving and take the Durango-Silverton Train). The aspen leaves were just starting their annual turn to brilliant yellow, a sight you can't soon forget. This house is your perfect base camp for an amazing trip to this region. For skiers, it's less than 30 minutes to the Purgatory Ski area. For spa enthusiasts, the Durango Hot Springs spa less than a mile down the road is not to be missed. The guest book in the house will lead you to other special treats in the area. We can't wait to return.

Excellent property!

We loved this property. The setting is beautiful and it’s in a great location. The house was clean and we really liked the layout. We were celebrating my sister’s birthday and the house was perfect for our family - 3 of my sisters, sister’s boyfriend and my niece. We were very happy with this house and would recommend it without hesitation!

The location is excellent, both access to town and back to the mountains. The home was very comfortable, the deck is as good as it looks in the pictures. The management team was friendly, responsive and accommodating. Our experience was outstanding.

Perfect family spot for ski vacation

We had a lovely stay, plenty of room for our two families, great location, 20min from Durango, 20min from the slopes, 1 mile from the relaxing Hot Springs. Property management was very responsive and we'd happily stay here again!

Fantastic Durango!

The property was the perfect mix of seclusion and yet close to both Durango and Purgatory. It was plenty roomy for 6 Adults and a child. Extremely well-stocked! The property managers, Durango Colorado Vacations were very responsive and great to work with. Will definitely use again!

Peaceful oasis

We enjoyed our stay at Vista Views. We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. We also brought along our 2 dogs and they seemed to adjust very well after the first night. The home is very comfortable and inviting. We got to see tons of Turkeys, and a few squirrels. Durango downtown is about a 10-15 minute drive. We will definitely be back!

Durango Get away

The house was a great size and had beautiful view. The property management company was easy to work with and responsive to our needs. My only issues were: toilets (especially master bath) did not work well and hot water ran out very quickly. We had to have a plumber come in and look at it. But, it is a nice property and well priced. I would not stay there again unless the toilet and hot water issues were taken care of though. When you have 7 people staying in a house those things are very important.
