"Pros: This is our first time staying at a lodge like this, so close to nature, just like camping. You will hear coqui frog whole night & seeing them jumping next to your door step. Animals free roaming, peacocks, ducks, chicken. Kids loved it. Cons: There is barely any light at night in the Property…so if you come back late, it’s a bit challenging to find your cabin."

"Es una casa con varias habitaciones, con baño privado. Nos toco la habitación en la planta baja. Muy limpio todo . Tiene cocina compartida pero eramos los únicos huéspedes entonces tuvimos el privilegio de la casa sola. El dueño vive en la parte de atras en una casita separada. Tiene un perro que todo el tiempo esta en la entrada de la casa, pero no ataca. No hay señal del telefono en una gran parte de esta area. Tiene que salir a carretera. Hay wifi en la casa pero solo agarra en el segundo...

"Chris was my host and he has a nice comfortable place. It was like hanging out with a friend. Everything was clean and the house rules were explained and easily understood. Very economical."

"This place was so unique and amazing!!! Very special place that we are lucky to have found. We also got there in time for the volcano to erupt. Proximity to the park was unbelievable and the management was extremely helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend enough. "

"No frills bed and breakfast. This is the type of place that you book for serenity and for the quiet atmosphere which was perfect for our trip. It is worth noting that you need to make arrangements to get your access code ahead of time if you think you will have delays in your travel. However this process was easy to do. The property is close to volcano national park and also has an enjoyable rainforest environment as well. "

"This was our first time staying at this property and loved it. The view was spectacular. Such a peaceful location just a few miles from downtown. I was a little nervous about there being no AC but it was not a problem at all despite the high temps during the day. The only downside was someone parking in our spot. The situation was eventually remedied. Definitely recommended. Will see if this place is available next time we visit Hilo."

"Loved staying in this room. View to the ocean was spectacular. They would stock the fridge with fruits and yogurt for breakfast every day. Room has no AC and bathroom gets Hot but no big deal. Bed was super comfortable. There’s quite an amount of stairs to reach the roo. "

"Had a very pleasant stay at Jenipher and Davidʻs home. Jenipher communicated well and responded to all questions/concerns. The studio was fully stocked with amenities galore! Very clean, inviting and peaceful. I heard the coqui frogs at night but didn’t mind or lose sleep over it. Loved the interior local decor and cool relaxing colors. I was allowed to bring my cat too (I brought my own kitty’s supplies) which I appreciated very much! "
