The location was fantastic -- super convenient to the metro station, as well as to local restaurants and businesses, and a somewhat longer but still doable walk downtown. The neighborhood was safe and (mostly) clean, and the space was largely as advertised. Beds were comfortable, too. The combination pad to get in was a little temperamental, but we eventually got the hang of it. We parked our car at a nearby lot and didn't use it at all once we got into town, so we never had to deal with parking, but I could see it getting tricky, though of course that's always going to be an issue in Chicago. The unit is on the bottom floor, so we were a little worried about noise from neighbors, but we didn't have any real trouble with that -- aside from one very weird occasion on which there was a ton of noise upstairs for some three hours in the middle of the night. We did have some communication issues during our stay, including lack of checkout instructions and unclear protocols on who to contact about which issues. We also had to throw out some of the groceries we bought when we got into town because a blown fuse had rendered a lot of the kitchen outlets -- including the one to the refrigerator -- inoperative, and we couldn't get anyone to come out and fix it until the following afternoon.Overall, though, the experience was much more positive than negative. It proved to be a great home base for exploring the central parts of Chicago.
