Family Visit
The house is very cool..lots of unusual artwork throughout. Appliances were first rate and the extra room upstairs was suitable to use as an office.
My main suggestion revolves around the lighting. As a historic townhouse lighting is a challenge..however the dining room table had a chandelier that did not function despite Graham's best attempt to fix it. As such we couldnt really enjoy a sit down dinner as after sundown it was too dark.
Also the large master was lit but there was no lighting in the area near the master closet save for the closet light itself. During the day this was no problem but i foumd myself neeeding my phone to see inside the suticases that we stored there. My suggestion would be to add some tall floor lamps with LED lights..in this way the character of the place would remain intact but it would be easier to see espacially for those over 60.
The other suggestion I have is with regard to the upstairs hallway. As i indicated to Graham the subfloor is in need of replacement and as such the boards are starting to separate causing the nails to begin to pop. After stepping on one nailhead in the middle of the night we taped a small piece of paper over it to insure that we avoided it. Again...to be expected in a hostoric house but wanted to make sure that this is pointed out.
The backyard is great...with the warm late spring weather we were able to dine al fresco. The Mexican restaurant aroumd the corner provided a lively accompanyment to our meal.
