"The Crown Hotel is nestled in a quiet community near Carlisle. It is located near a train station but also has a parking area (spaces are a bit tight, designed for small cars but filled with larger cars). There is access to a private gym/fitness center on site. There is a lovely garden with seating. The morning breakfast is quite nice with many options. We stayed three nights while we explored Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. "Lovely breakfast, both cooked and buffet. Service was polite and efficient without feeling rushed. Plenty of room in the dining room and lounges. Our bedrooms were spacious and clean with many sockets, a hot tub and whirlpool bath, full set of Wainwright’s guides, and the fridge was kept stocked with fresh milk (not the usual UHT rubbish), water, tea, coffee and even biscuits.
