The location was perfect, but that’s where it ends. The house was filthy and in desperate need of maintenance. The house next door was under construction and I understand construction noise as we own a construction business, but this was on another level of loud. When we spoke with the property manager the situation only got worse. While we also understood that the entire island is under construction after the last hurricane, NO WHERE in the listing did it note constant construction noise. This made it impossible to relax on our vacation. We ultimately ended up leaving early due to these factors. Vacasa and the owner should be ashamed of themselves for renting this house out in the condition that it’s in. We also have rental properties and I would NEVER rent out a house in this condition.
Mold on pillows.
Stains on furniture.
Filth on door.
Filth and scuffs on walls.

fantastic cottage and location

this cottage was just amazing . location to beach and restaurants was exceptional. we had such an amazing time. quiet area . pool was great . walk to the Beach short . we really did not want to leave.. I could live there. thank you so much for an amazing vacation. hope to return again to same cottage.

Ideally located, beach getaway

It was myself, husband and 2.5 year old son who stayed at the property. The pool, proximity to the beach and walking distance to restaurants and ice cream shops couldn't have been any better. The house itself has some serious wear and tear though. Although I believe the cleaners did a great job, the condition/cleanliness of the furniture, and wear and tear on the house made it feel a little uncomfortable and dirty. We ate in for every meal and felt the kitchen was sparsely stocked, but we made due with what was there. We made the screened in porch our living space which was nicely furnished and comfortable, so we just didn't use the interior unless we needed it.Overall, the location couldn't be beat and the pool was wonderful, which made it a very enjoyable vacation.

Awesome Location - Awesome House!

This house on Anna Maria Island was a perfect vacation. The island is obviously still recovering from hurricane damage, but in a way that probably made this stay better. It was super quiet - even with construction going on - which was expected. This house has an awesome backyard with the privacy fence and pool. The pool was heated, and although cold first couple days because I'm sure they had just finished filling it for us, the last several days with it were really nice! The beach is literally a house away, and the path you walk to the beach is super pretty with like a tree tunnel you go through before coming out at the beach. Love that there is a walkway right at the beach entrance where you can basically walk the length of the beach down to where there are a couple restaurants and general store, and I'm sure usually a lot more things open, but again - hurricane damage. I can easily see this place being very active and busy if everything was open. Many properties were clearly nowhere near ready to open back up, but very happy this house was available. It had a starter of everything you need - laundry soap (never used washer/dryer so can't comment), dish soap and dish washer tabs, soap, cream rinse, shampoo and a couple rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We got groceries on the way in at the Publix just 8 minutes from the house. They had plenty of towels, blankets, etc. Basic seasonings and coffee filters would have been nice for the coffee maker. Overall - very nice!

Great place for family of 4!

The Mangrove Cottage was perfect for my family of 4. Great location to the beach! Backyard was like our own tropical oasis! We loved the pool!! Comfortable beds! Hot water lasted a really long time with no issues of running out (4 baths/showers, dishes and laundry on same evening). I enjoyed the sitting in the screened porch in the mornings drinking my coffee. Washer and dryer worked really well. House cleaning staff could have done a better job, but it wasn't terrible. The dishes could definitely use a good cleaning. We bought paper plates/bowls so we didn't use a lot of the dishes, but anything we did use needed washed first. Overall great stay!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Awesome spot!

We had a great week! The house is very dated, but the pool and proximity of the beach are outstanding. Sweet little side street. Super comfortable, the kitchen we well outfitted. The back yard made the week for us. Morning shade and afternoon sun, elongated our outside time w kids who loved switching between ocean and pool! Only caveat is that it’s not managed by an owner but by Vacasa and that ended up meaning that if you need anything addressed beyond cosmetic /cursory, you’re out of luck. I didn’t notice that detail and I would look to avoid it in the future. We had planned/shopped to use the grill, based on the house features listed. When we got there, shopping completed, it was literally falling apart. Beyond usable…and clearly had been like that for some time. We tried to reach out to have them replace it, but vacasa could only swap the propane tank— and had no way to contact the owner. Not a big deal, a quick walk to the beach and who cares about a broken grill…, but was a bummer to cook burgers and steak on a rental electric stove top. In chatting w neighbors and other renters, the Vacasa prop mgmt has some specific pros/cons— make sure it works for you!

Great location

Property is one house away from beach access on a very quiet street. Walking distance to great spots. Pool and screened in patio were our favorite spots. They also had beach chairs and sand toys which was an added bonus.

Perfect location!

Nice place located within 100 steps from the beach. Great, clean private pool. Updated kitchen. Bath rooms need some updating. Nice sitting porch. Definitely come back as it’s a great value and walking distance to many restaurants and local watering holes!

Poor condition

Extremely dirty. Furniture, vents, ceiling fans, floors, curtains and doors have not been cleaned in a long time. For the money we spent we feel we were ripped off. All the furniture needs to be replaced. Walls need painting. Floors in both bathrooms need to be fixed so that vermin cannot enter the cottage.

Perfect location

Great location beside the beach. Awesome heated pool with great landscaping in the back yard. Comfortable bed and good kitchen. Floors are bad. All in all we really liked it and would stay there again.

Desperately needed updated. Unfinished concrete around toilets. Couldn’t see in the mirrors because they were mounted too high. Most Furnishings looked like they came from the thrift store. Code did not work repair man came out, was unable to fix it and did not return until the day before we left. Construction going on next door right next to the pool. Only positive was it’s just a short walk to the beach and it’s pet friendly.

Minor Complaint

Wish I would’ve known this property was directly next to a construction site. Work started at 7:30am on the nose every day of our honeymoon and the loud noises were constant all day M-F. I’m sure it would be a nice place to stay once the construction is done next door but until then I wouldn’t come back to this property.

Great break from today’s uncertain times

While the actual house is old, the inside has been updated and was extremely clean. We were looking for a place away from the craziness and this was great. Steps to the beach and a private pool. The kitchen was fully stocked with kitchenware. The only two negatives were the twin beds were crazy hard and there is no full length mirror. The bathroom mirrors are small and very high up in the wall. We actually had to rent an air mattress due to the twin beds being so hard. As far as contacting anyone at VACASA that was impossible due the extreme wait times caused by the pandemic. The local office wasn’t reopened until our third day there. Then I got a very helpful young lady. Also, the pool skimmer should be replaced so renters can get bugs and leaves out themselves. The beautiful lush greenery comes with a price lol. I was more then willing to clean the pool each morning myself, but that net is all torn up. Also your pool company does absolutely nothing, so you might want to find someone else. We loved our stay there, and would 100% stay there again due to location and privacy. Four people fit very comfortably. Let me know if there is a cancellation this summer!!

Great place

We thoroughly enjoyed this house for our week at the beach. It's very accommodating. Bring all of your necessities such as coffee filters, condiments, etc. but linens are there including beach towels. The pool and deck are very nice in the backyard and it's a short walk to the beach.

Wonderful Florida cottage and great location

My family really enjoyed our stay here. We had some beautiful sunny days and some great storms which we we enjoyed playing cards on our front screened porch. We had a delay at check in due to the cleaners not being complete in time but the house was very clean. Enjoyed the pool area but wished we had the porch and pool area connected somehow. Loved the location and ease of getting back and forth to the beach.

Sleeps 6 seems like a stretch. The LR sofa bed might sleep 2 if you are 2 tiny people. Other than that, everything else was outstanding!

This cottage is in a ideal location,you can walk to everything you need. The updates on this place were nice, except the twin beds, needs more then mattress on board. The heated pool was a great, there were four adults in our group and had plenty of space to move around. We went there to relax, and that is exactly what we did.

Nice little cottage. Liked the updates taking place. GREAT location- just steps from the beach.

Had a wonderful time! Pool was great! Super location. House was stocked with everything we needed. Very clean. Loved the cozy screened porch area. Only issues really were that the twin beds were hard as rocks & other than the couch - living room seating was not very comfortable. Overall- lovely cottage. Would definitely stay here again!
