Overall we enjoyed the stay. The kitchen was well appointed, containing a very nice collection of pots and pans and food storage containers. It could have used some more food prep materials such as mixing bowls and spatulas/spoons. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The linens provided were more than sufficient for our stay. The water toys were used a lot! The kayaks, paddle boards and lilly pad were great to have, especially when a fishing lure got caught in the weeds. The lake bottom around the dock was very mucky, nearly stealing sandals off feet. The location around the dock is not great for swimming, but the sand beach would be sufficient for small kids. The lake is reasonably quiet with lots of pontoons, but not a lot of speed boats. Bring bug spray because it has been a long time since I've had to deal with such an influx of mosquitoes - unbelievable amount of bugs.
The listing mentioned there may or may not be firewood - there was very little available. There was a neighbor advertising free firewood, so we grabbed some from them. The listing also noted that there was a charcoal grill available, but there wasn't one on the property. The gas grill worked fine, but we had planned some meals around the charcoal grill.
Understand if you book this place that it is about a 30 minute drive to Aitkin or Cross Lake - Emily is about 20 minutes away. If you need something from a store, plan to have to travel.
Overall it was a good stay.
