I booked through Vrbo but the information on the house all came through several different emails. This made the check in process a little difficult because I had to go digging through 6 different emails to find door access code. The home is huge and lovely! Beds are comfy and location is amazing. We had a hard time cooking because the cookware was lacking, there were no cookie sheets that fit in the oven. There were also no ziplocks or tin foil or basic kitchen items typically found in a rental. The fireplace didn’t work either. When we checked out I found no instructions on vrbo on how to check out properly I had to log into vacasa and I find that’s frustrating when I don’t have a log in for that. I reached out to ask for instructions and never got a response before we had to leave.

Great neighborhood family home

We deeply enjoyed our stay at Captain’s quarters. The location and 6 bedrooms were all what were advertised - clean, excellent beds. We were delighted by a few surprises we didn’t fully anticipate: great laundry, a good hot tub, kegerator, kitchen stocked with kids and adults dishes, spacious driveway.A few things could help: some extra laundry pods would have let us run more sheets/towels before our departure, more dishwasher soap and more paper towels. The fireplace didn’t work for us - not essential for summer, but hopefully something that can be fixed before winter. Also there are 2 can openers but neither worked. We share this merely for the host - as the property was beyond everything we expected and would love to return!

Nice space but a lot of issues

The rooms and house layout itself was very nice and the beds were comfy. The hot tub was great. The fireplaces did not work at all until a tech came out to fix one on our final day of the trip. The dishwasher required us to find and flip the circuit breaker for it every time we needed to use it. Multiple lights and outlets throughout the house did not work at all. When we arrived at the house it wasn't super clean, with random food items left scattered through the rooms from the previous guests, cobwebs in certain spots (master bedroom), and leaf inserts for the tables leaning against walls throughout the pool table room. All in all it got the job done for our group, but for what we paid I would have expected a better experience!

Great overall

The house was spacious and comfortable for all 10 of us. I do wish that all the bedrooms could have had a fan-there were only 4. Some of the nights were pretty warm which made it difficult to sleep for those who didn’t have a fan. Who ever is the caretaker for this place may want to go around inside and outside to change out all the dead bulbs. The kitchen had plenty of storage with a pantry and lots of cupboards and drawers. Lots of silver ware, glassware, mugs, plates, bowls. Even the extras like crock pot, two coffee makers, blender, waffle iron, griddle, panini press. Note that there was no foil, plastic wrap, ziplocs-you May want to bring your own. What the kitchen could have used is a couple normal sized baking pans (there were 2 small cookie sheets) we could have used some oven mitts and dish rags. There were two dish towels. The pots and pans were that non stick type and they were peeling so I think it might be time to replace them. The dishwasher is not bolted in so it comes tilting out when you open up the door. The trash compactor really needs a thorough clean out or possibly taken out altogether. It’s a bit smelly and grimy. Aside from those two things the kitchen was really great. I do wish there were table and chairs outside. And I would have rather a second living area instead of the pool table room but that’s just my personal opinion. The games and puzzles were a great bonus as the last day on our vacation was very cold and rainy. Thank you for your home.

Great House in a Great Location!

Before we booked that house, i sent 3 message to asked if we can check out little bit late , because our kids had online school until 12:00pm , but no response, we are going out least 6-7 times a year, never had any problems with late check out, but this property didn't let me

Mini vacation at Tahoe
