Peaceful stay at this beautiful space

We had a great time at this home! Some of the pros were: - remote but not too too remoteness. I wanted unobstructed views and to feel like we had some real space and privacy. This place provided that!- the home is decorated very nicely. Loved the modern design mixed with hand sourced items and rocks. Nice textiles.- the record player was perfect while cooking and the home has a great/varied selection.- the tub is big and has such a VIEW!- Joshua tree and other activities are close by and make sight seeing easy.- the beds were comfy and bidet was great!Some things to consider on the other end:- the home is run by a management company so it can be a two part process when trying to communicate with the owner for questions vs getting a quick response via vrbo messages. - When we arrived all of the towels in the two bed bedroom were rolled up nicely on the bed but were soaking wet. (They were still wet as ever when we left the next day but only stayed one night so I had an extra in the other room to lend). - Renters just be aware this home has only the basics as far as kitchen supplies and no kind of pantry so if you plan on cooking a big meal, bring all of your own tinfoil, saran, seasoning, honey (they do have salt /pepper and cinnamon) anything like that. - We were really looking forward to stargazing on the two hammocks listed in the profile, and it was one of the reasons I booked this spot over others, but there was only one hammock when we got there.

Access To Property DIFFICULT - High Clearance Vehicle Recommended

Property management company that manages this property is pretty dysfunctional, with rude customer service over the phone. In their handbook to arrive at the property they say don’t use GPS, but then their handbook links to GPS, which they recommend you use. The description does state that the property is located on a dirt road, what they don’t tell you is that you very likely will not access this location if you have a vehicle that has a low clearance, we were fortunate to be driving a truck with high clearance, so it was not a problem for us, but it was definitely a bone jarring trip out to the location. The property is nice enough, and clean on the inside for the most part, however, forget about hanging around outside unless you enjoy getting a coating of dust in about 10 minutes over every inch of your body. The fire pit propane bottle was completely empty so we didn’t get to use it. If not for the rude customer service from the management company when trying to deconflict an email that said they were canceling our reservations due to an app they use for identity verification being dysfunctional, I’m sure that we’d have ignored the minor issues. Then there was the creepy Breaking Bad people on quad runners that would roll up to the property in the middle of the night, sit there idling outside on the road for a while before tearing off into the night again. Owners should hire new management. Good night photography if clear, so there’s that…

Great Stay

This was just the spot we were hoping for to get away for a New Years vacation. Outdoor living spaces were great to enjoy the beautiful property. The location was remote yet not too far from anything we needed in town, and an easy drive to the national park. Only small complaint was the cleaning could have been more thorough. There was some hair in the bathroom that was not ours and the stove / oven had some built up grease.

Perfect Off grid, Chic house in JT

Our friends booked this house for our friend's Birthday trip to JT... Spacious, clean, chic decor, outdoor pit, cute hammocks and BBQ. Off-grid, quiet, great views! Please note no TV and in case it matters, some windows/doors don't have curtains. It definitely adds to the experience and allows for views inside, but if it's an all girls trip, could be a tad spooky. We loved our time there, nonetheless!

Desert solitude

We loved the fact that it was somewhat out of the way. Lots of space, and a beautiful setting. Will definitely go again. Was worried about the long dirt road to get there, but it worked out fine.

Quiet in the desert!!!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Even though it was a bit cold (early January) in the evenings, we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and watching the night close in. Lots of stars! I'd suggest using a vehicle with high clearance (SUV). The roads around Joshua Tree, including the approach to this cute little house are sand tracks that are rutted and rough. We didn't know to expect that and were given a Prius by the rental company. Yikes...made it a little nerve racking! We enjoyed our visits to the Park. Quite a few people....of course, but not mobbed. The house is nicely furnished and comfortable for a couple or a family with some kids.

Desert Stargazing

We booked this house hoping to be able to be out of the city enough to view stars and go to Joshua Tree. The stargazing didn't disappoint! The house is about 2 1/2 off the main road and you have to take a dirt road to get to it but my kids had fun playing on the hammocks, taking a walk around the desert, playing on the swing and enjoying the fire pit in the evening. The house is clean and the management service is quick to respond.
