"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. "Only stayed one night so didn’t use all the spa facilities which looked nice. Our room was a very long walk from the reception, this was difficult to manage with my son who is autistic and has disabilities. If I stayed again I would specify that we needed to be nearer reception. "Excellent accommodation, clean, tidy and close to Southwell. Easy parking and nice touch with snacks and drinks you could buy. Tea/coffee facilities, nice en-suite. Host was very receptive, we left an iPad in the room, and they kindly posted it back to us . Thank you"
