Beautifully Restored Coach House In Woodlands Overlooking the Suir Estuary

  • The Coach House which is situated in Woodstown, is on the beautiful Suir river estuary in Co. Waterford, Ireland. It is located in 4 acres of quiet woodlands just five minutes walk from Woodstown and Forenaught beaches and only ten minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East. Whether you want a hideaway for a quiet week or two, to write or paint or walk or do nothing, or if you wish to base yourself in a centrally located coastal area ideally positioned for local touring, this is the place for you.
    The restoration and refurbishment of the Coach House at Mount Alto was completed in 2008 to a very high quality standard of finish which is maintained by continuous improvement. The unit is heated by oil-fired under floor heating. Water heating is by central heating and electric immersion heater. An external enclosed private patio is accessible from the lower living area. Broadband internet (Wi-Fi) is provided free for normal internet usage. The accommodation is a smoke free zone. Also we regret that we are unable to cater for pets.
    There is a 7 night minimum for bookings during high season, ie. June to September. For the reminder of the year, a 3 night minimum booking applies.

Wonderful visit

We had a great time exploring the area and going for day drives. We had some great times at the pub and inn down the way. Would recommend this for travelers wanting to get away from all the hustle.

Perfect. Although we'd driven all that way to Woodstown (from Derby in England) , we really wanted to stay in the Coach House rather than travel around! Brendan & Jean were perfect hosts - their property really is something to be experienced.

Nice little Oasis

The Hosts were wonderful. Very kind. We even had a fresh loaf of bread. We loved the quiet area. Got some good walks in. Beautiful area. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Great Ireland Holiday

We've stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this stay was the best. Spoiled with homemade bread and a gift of wine along with grocery staples to get us started for our two weeks. Loved the location and advice for local outings.

Perfect stay

The location is stunning, the house is quaint & spotless and is fully equipped with everything you could need for a perfect stay. Brendan & Jean were perfect hosts & were nearby for any assistance. To top it all off there was a fabulous welcome pack of delicious homemade bread and assorted essentials.

You MUST book this place if you thinking about it!

Brendan and Jean are what booking private places so great! Everything was just as described in listing. This place is lovely on every level and so clean with all the extra you might need for your stay. Make sure you check out the private beach!

High Quality and Serene

As others have said, very high-quality accommodation, amazing value. Set in a forest environment but only moments from wild strands and dining in Dunmore East. A pleasure, would love to return.

Lovely relaxing stay

We felt at home straight away...cleanliness and comfort were better than other stays in the area we have stayed in before. We would definitely go back and stay in the future. Brendan and Jean were lovely hosts and we appreciated the lovely welcome of home made bread and lots of other treats we found when we arrived.

Wir fühlten uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus. Brendan und Jean haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen und uns mit selbst gebackenem Brot verwöhnt. Die Lage des Häuschens war ruhig und nicht weit entfernt von einem langen Strand. Auch viele Ausflugsziele waren gut zu erreichen. Für uns war der Urlaub in diesem Haus einfach perfekt!

A great place

It’s a wonderful place for a couple or a family with a kid. Comfortable, clean, well taken care of. A nice welcome package (wine, brown bread, breakfast supplies). The road to the driveway is quite narrow, but take it slow and no problem. The amenities are just as described. We would definitely stay again.

A place to feel home

Brendan and Jean's Coach House is fantastic. It is in an absolutely peaceful location. Only the birds can be heard. Everything is clean and very lovingly furnished. It is equipped with everything you could want and need. The welcome was very warm and attentive. Thank you for the starter pack with the delicious wine and homemade bread. We really enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing and Peaceful

We loved our time at the Coach House. Brendan and Jean’s generous hospitality was greatly appreciated - food staples, home made bread and welcome gift of wine and chocolates. We loved the walks to local beaches and the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to the birds in the courtyard. Thanks for sharing your relaxing and peaceful place with us and we would love to return.
