The hotel was not as advertised. There was a pest problem we were made aware of at check in. In the first 15 minutes of being in the room with all windows and doors closed, my daughter received over 10 bug bites. They tried giving us bug spray upon checking in saying they were aware they had a mosquito problem. The photos on their website were not current photos of the property. The room did not have a desk or TV as pictured and many of the rooms were under construction. All of which we were not notified about prior to our arrival. The photos also showed a sitting area in the family suite that we rented, however we learned upon arrival that it was actually the lobby to the hotel just outside the door to our bedroom. The second bedroom had shell chandeliers hanging that made as much noise as a wind chime due to the fan running. The rooms were extremely dark because the shutters had to be closed at all times, otherwise you were on display to the construction workers. Glass was broken behind the shutters in some of the windows. The lady checking us in was doing an excellent job representing her “employer/owner of the property”. She was as helpful as she could be but there was nothing she could do to fix the issues (especially the pest problem). It could be a great stay someday, it’s just not ready right now. We had to change venues. The hotel is refusing to refund our booking even though we did not stay.
