Beautiful, peaceful location for a cabin. Large home with separate sleeping areas and two roomy common areas. Had some trouble with the refrigerator and freezer not working properly, but the property manager was right on top of it! Would stay in this gorgeous home again!

Great Get Away with Family

The house and property are beautiful. The space was perfect for us (3 families, 4 kids and 6 adults). We really enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor areas. Communicating with the host was easy and I received prompt responses to my questions. We would love to stay here again!

Mountains with a view!

We really enjoyed staying here! The house was comfortable enough for both families of 4. The house had everything we needed and we loved that it was secluded with a view but still close to the grocery store and downtown! If I had to have one complaint it would be the hot water. So long as only one person was using the shower the water was fine but if more than one got turned on the shower would turn ice cold! After it happening twice we just didn’t shower lol. Also, the house is along the river but has a very steep path down to the water. We did a tubing excursion so didn’t have a need to go down there! Firepit and cornhole were also a huge hit! Thanks for letting us stay!

Mountain getaway weekend

Absolutely wonderful home!

I don't know what was more spectacular, the house itself or the views! Kitchen was well-stocked, combination of wood and stone throughout was beautiful. Kids room had absolutely Everything a child could hope for, and downstairs living area was just as awesome as upstairs - not like a basement at all! The road up to the house was a bit of a challenge but we made it without issues - four wheel drive came in handy! The view was incredible and the fire pit area was perfect for getting together and roasting s'mores. Saw turkeys, a bear and deer across the mountain, many rabbits and birds on property. Will definitely book again!

Kayaking trip

Beautiful place!!!!

Views were spectacular!!! Only feedback was the river is on the front side of the cabin but it’s not visible, the pictures appeared to show river closer. It was still gorgeous! And memorable .. since I got engaged this weekend at the river!!! Would stay here again.

Wonderful weekend!

The house was perfect for our family! It was decorated for Christmas already which I loved! It was clean had plenty of room and was perfect for our Mountain getaway! Close to Frostys Christmas tree farm too! It had games for the kids, fire pit and had all the things we needed for our weekend. Would definitely book again!

Friend weekend

Visited for the weekend with friends. The location was excellent with beautiful views and very quiet. The house itself was very clean with everything we needed. The kitchen had everything needed to cook multiple meals for 6 adults. The fire pit was perfect with plenty of seating and nice lighting. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Great Place

Great Place to stay at in West Jefferson. The house was very clean and comfortable and there was plenty there for entertainment. The drive to the house was long but it was worth it by the time you got there. I wish the walk to the river was more convenient. We went there for fishing and it was definitely a hike to the river. Other than that we were very pleased with our stay.

Super Clean, Awesome Views, Family Friendly, Great Yard

I am not one who typically writes reviews but “Over The River” deserves the spotlight! Let me start off by saying I am an ICU nurse so cleanliness is at the top of my priority list. Over The River was absolutely pristine and exceeded my expectations. The floors were spotless, the bathrooms were sparkling (I tend to cringe at the thought of stepping in a stranger’s shower), the kitchen and all appliances were spot and crumb free! The owner’s have done an amazing job furnishing the house. The beds are top of the line (the two king beds are tempur-pedic and are more on the firm side) and all of the bedding is so comfortable and first-class. You can tell the owners really take pride in their home and so many of the little details they’ve added show it. You’ll find plenty of extra hooks to hang all of your winter gear and a shoe rack at the main entry door, soft close drawers in the kitchen along with perfectly stocked dishes and utensils, hooks in the shower to hang wash clothes or loofahs, labeled light switches, cabinets and drawers, an amazing collection of movies and games for kids and adults! The game table in the kids room along with the movies, books, coloring books and puzzles were great for keeping the kids entertained while meals were being prepared. There were flashlights in every room and at every bedside in case of a power outage. The downstairs living area was so inviting, not like your typical cabin “basement”. It was fully equipped with everything you could need. The game table was perfect for putting together a puzzle while the kids enjoyed foosball or played one of the many board games. The laundry room was great to have especially for drying our wet gloves and snow bibs. The driveway to the cabin was indeed “rustic” but safe and fun to travel. The neighbors are nearby but you truly feel like you have the top of the mountain to yourself. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise from the kitchen window and the sky at sunset and the mountain view was amazing! We didn’t get to explore down to the river since the snow made it a little more adventurous than what we wanted to tackle but the yard was perfect for sledding and playing in the snow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I even inquired about staying an extra night because we hated to leave but of course it was already booked! Do yourself a favor and give Over The River a visit. You won’t be disappointed! Two Adults, two kids ages 7 & 12 and our golden retriever.

Excellent Views

This property is everything it was described to be. The kitchen, though a little small, was well equipped. The kids' bedroom was a hit! The decorations, games, and videos were a welcome surprise. The two teens with us especially enjoyed having an entire floor to themselves! The master bed is among the most firm beds I've ever slept on, but I enjoyed that and slept well! One MAJOR perk: internet. Our group of 9 included 3 teachers and 6 children who were in remote teaching and learning and all needed to be on live, online classes at the same time. This fiber internet handled it all with no problem! One thing to note: The road to this house is no joke. Not only do you need 4WD, you need a little know-how for driving in 4WD, particularly if you are visiting in the winter. During our visit, 5-7 inches of snow fell and the road in and out was quite treacherous. However, to our surprise, it was plowed by the end of the day!
