Our family of six stayed at the property for a few days while visiting Washington DC. We loved being able to walk to the Capitol Mall, grocery, and more. The area was safe and the dedicated parking spot was appreciated. However, the overall condition of the property was mediocre. Chair cushions were stained and chairs themselves were wobbly, towels and linens were randomly assorted and poor quality, electrical outlets were "loose" (cord would fall out when you tried to plug into the wall), and a huge mass of tangled wires behind the tv seemed unsafe. Overall, while the property seemed like it had been cleaned prior to our arrival (although my husband wound a women's bra in the couch cushions and a giant bug came out of the upstairs closet on the first night) the overall condition of the house was poor. In addition, check in/check out instructions were inconsistent - the wifi log in information provided was wrong and we had to call the owner to access it, check out time was listed at 9am but the owner told us 11 am. Finally, owner interactions were strange and a few hours after we checked out he called to complain that we had left a couple of upstairs windows open (my daughters had slept with the window above their bed slightly open and had forgotten to close it when we left ), and had left a few lights on. However, we were most disappointed when the owner accused us of causing a dent in the floor of the kitchen and telling us that we would have to pay for it to be fixed. This was not something we caused, and strangely we never saw a dent in the floor, even as we were leaving. He even went so far as to text me a photo of it and say that it would be our responsibility to fix it. The whole experience was strange and unprofessional. We would not stay again.
