Excellent place to stay near all that the capital has to offer. Very easy to walk to most places. We walked back after the July 4th fireworks from the wharf with the kids who are 11 and 12. It’s only a 15 minute walk to the union station as well as 10 to the capital building area. Uber was helpful and easy to get in this area as well. Highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay for DC visit

My wife and our 21 year old son stayed here for its close proximity to all the DC must see places, it didn’t let us down. The location is outstanding as it lies within a 15 min walk to the metro and a 12 minute walk to the nations capital. The historic house is located within a very nice and safe neighborhood and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. Off street parking is available so we parked our car and didn’t use it our entire visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Close to Everything

Great place to stay! Neighborhood felt safe. Able to park our car their the entire stay and then walk 20-30 minutes to Museums. The Union Pub was only a 9 minute walk and had delicious food!The place itself was clean, plenty of bedding, towels, full kitchen, laundry. They even had a little fan in the bedroom, which I appreciated. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Easy Access to the Area

The basement apartment was exactly as advertised. The location is great - easy to access Union Station & the capital. The house is on the corner with a light, so occasionally some road noise when cars rev off, but nothing that isn't expected in city living/staying.

DC Trip

Wonderful location and very comfortable. Only problem we experienced were the steps going down to the apartment. They are small and very steep and there was no mention of this in the description. We managed them but could be a problem for some people.

Close to Supreme Court Library of Congress and US Capitol. Quiet, safe area. Issues include difficult, possibly dangerous steps down to entry door, then additional steps down into the unit. Poorly equipped kitchen. Only 1 teaspoon. No sugar. No curtain over kitchen window. Bathroom door does not fully close unless latched.

Close enough to walk

The house was exactly what we needed for our short trip to DC. It had the perfect amount of space for our family of 4 and a parking spot for our rental car! The house was clean and comfortable, and it didn’t feel like a garden unit. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint. The library of congress was only about 10-15 min walk and a 25-30 min walk to the National Archives. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place for families.

Great location in historic older home

Walking distance to the capital ... beautiful older home in a nicr neighborhood. Instructions and the space was excellent. It needs spme light repairs, but everything was functional, comfortable, and spacias for a basement apartment. Only one entrance / exit with the agress having bars. But great price for the area, for sure.

Lovely

It was a nice apartment and well furnished. I loved the touches of modern and antique. Nice walking distance to a few sites with beautiful brownstones along the way. The cement stairs down to the door were a bit steep, however.

Great place for small family!

This was the best VRBO / rental experience I’ve ever had. The apartment was as exactly describes with everything you could need. Couch bed with a trundle was perfect for 3 little kids with a super comfortable queen bed for us. Great shower and water pressure. Ample towels for the entire week. Perfect location to be within walking distance of the sights and museums and local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again next time we’re in DC!

Enjoyed the stay

Info/pictures were accurate. Spacious. Had everything we needed. Loved having the parking space and a secure area for our bikes. Location close to the Capitol was great, but was uphill from the Mall so can be a tough bike ride at the end of the day! Came with our 12 & 14 yo, and each getting their own single bed/mattress was great.

Excellent neighborhood!

This apartment is tucked in the basement of a magnificent house. It wasn’t easy for me to find but a quick call to the owner (who has tons of patience) solved the issue instantly. It’s a tad bit confusing, and I would suggest posting a photo of the outside of the property or perhaps sending it with the welcome directions. The apartment doesn’t exactly look like the photos on the website, but it’s super cute and has absolutely everything you’ll need. Including an abundance of clean towels! We did use the washer and dryer, plenty of laundry detergent. Had a little difficulty with the AC, but that must have been my fault.. I don’t have AC at home, so not used to how it works. There’s some really yummy restaurants located within walking distance and the neighborhood residents are incredibly nice. Lots of sweet children and their families out for walks. I would absolutely stay here again. The owner was outstanding, including letting us leave our bags there for an early morning tour and late check in to our other hotel. Uber, Lyft easy peasy!

Family Trip to DC

5 of us stayed here. The space was very clean and we had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, a safe space, a comfortable bed. We used the blow up mattress for one guest. It was in a safe and charming neighborhood and close to everything . We Uber -ed everywhere and all the Ubers were great! Sharing 1 bathroom was a little hard for 5 adults, but the price and location was worth it. They were very accommodating with an early check in as well. Thank you! Highly recommend;)
