The two reasons I am rating 3 out of 5 are that most inside doors and door handles were broken or loose, and so was the shower. It did not produce hot water. We also had to buy toilet paper because we were not given enough for the stay. The location is terrific, there was plenty of living space, and it was clean. We also appreciated the additional blowup bed, because the sleeper sofa is in a tiny room and really doesn't work for 2 additional people.

So convenient

Stayed here while moving my daughter into her dorm at Howard. This was the perfect place. Easy to get to Howard (walking). Had all of the amenities we needed. Check in was easy. We had no issues at all.

Very Nice

It was very nice. Plenty of storage for food. Store was not very far at all. Walking distance for main items. Quiet neighborhood overall.

Classic architecture with modern amenities

Loved the mixture of old and new in this property! The hot water radiators with a Jenn-Air gas range made everything very convenient.

Great location

The property is as listed and fully stocked with essentials. We are 50 and were able to easily walk to the Mall. Very pleasant neighborhood with friendly neighbors. We enjoyed Shaws Tavern and DCity Smokehouse as places to eat.

Weekend in DC

I loved this place! The set up was perfect for us (3 bedrooms to accommodate 3 couples) You did have to walk through 1 bedroom to get to the other bedroom, but it was fine. Most importantly, it was very clean. And we really liked the neighborhood!

Cozy house and yard

Close to Washington! Parking behind the house no problem and Shaw is an historical part of Washington. We enjoyed our stay and will come again!

Wonderful location. Quick walk (10 mins) to the Metro line at Shaw/Howard. Several restaurant options close by. The LeDroit market is literally right around the corner if you need just a couple of little things. The house has charm and character with some squeaky floors and steps (in case that bothers you - it didn’t bother us). Nice kitchen. FYI you walk through the master bedroom (with the walk in shower en-suite) to get to the back bedroom. Austin was very responsive despite the fact that he was out of the country and on a very different time zone. Could be a little cleaner and the couch is a little saggy.

We were able to have walking access to the Metro to head downtown. Even though it was an older home, the house was clean and had everything we needed.

Unfortunately terrible experience

We could not stay at the property since we found it not cleaned after the last visit. We called Evolve and the property manager. The property manager never responded.Evolve had to cancel the booking. Waiting for my refund.

Family vacation to DC

We brought our large family to DC for a week of sightseeing. The house was perfect for our family of 7. The neighborhood was nice and metro access was only about a 10 minute walk away. Also, if you are into this type of thing, there is a bar about 2 blocks away called the Gold Clover. Go check it out

Great family vacation

The house was a perfect location. Very easy to drive to the tourist attractions. We really liked having the private driveway and parking spot in the back. The only complaint we had is the back bedroom is extremely drafty and it was very cold in there. It appeared the heater in there did not work. We covered the drafty door with a blanket, which helped. We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy property with charm

The accommodations were great for a quick trip up to DC. The house is older and cozy. One surprise is that one of the bedrooms is inside another bedroom, so with a group of singles and a couple it made it a bit awkward to organize sleeping arrangements but we were able to work it out. Thank you for contributing to a great weekend.

Spacious home near metro

Our family of 5 adults stayed a week in this 3-BR home. The living area on the first floor is nice and spacious for hanging out. There is a nice outdoor area behind the house but we didn't spend much time there. Both the metro station and bus stop are conveniently a short walk away. We had a couple of minor issues and we appreciated that the host responded pretty quickly to address them.

Great Stay in DC

This was a great place to stay. A couple of folks noted that the back alley for entering the parking space was tight. My Hyundai Palisade entered well but we only had a couple inches on each side. You must be an accurate driver. The house had everything you will need to cook and extras, but it could use a good clean. The walls and doors have scuffing. Like many older homes it needs some love but that is expected with it being a real home. The third bedroom is connected with the master but that is perfect if traveling with kids! The area was okay to walk through and there is walk-up Dunkin and an Ethiopian restaurant that serves great breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and ubering (UberXL) was fairly priced at about 15 to the National Mall area.

Spacious old remodeled house in vibrant neighborhood

House was clean, well lit, and had spacious rooms including a very large and well-equipped kitchen. The private parking spot accessible from the alley behind the house is very convenient but a bit tricky to pull into. The one issue in the kitchen was that there was no coffee pot, so had to be creative to make coffee. Location was close to groceries and restaurants and very convenient for getting anywhere in DC. There is a very nice remodeled bathroom off one of the bedrooms. The only other issue with the house is that water seems to leak from that bathroom into the ceiling of the living room.Overall this was a fantastic place to stay with just a few minor issues. We were there only two nights and so didn’t attempt to get these addressed.

Great place to stay with family

The house is great. it was clean and pretty well stocked. 3 bathrooms worked out really well because there was 6 of us. Just a few things to watch out for: the stairs are wood and small so with the little ones make sure they have on slippers or socks with grippers on the bottom. There was not a cookie sheet, so we improvised. I was pleasantly surprised by the well-stocked selection of paper towels and toilet paper. There was enough laundry detergent to wash every day. I travel a lot with children, so I usually bring my own because some places are selective about the amount of these items they provide. There is a Walmart close by so you can have grocery items delivered easily: They don't provide plastic bags in DC so there will be charge for paper bags. We used Lyft services to travel back and forth to the tourist sites and museums: For a family of 6 it was about 11:00 to 15:00 per ride. The parking was rough as I was driving a very large SUV but I was able to get it into the very narrow entrance by pulling in my side mirrors in: it was a bit difficult to find the entrance to back part of the house because there is not a sign. the gate does not lock per the instructions but parking on the street was not an option because the website was down during my stay. the only negative was that the trash bins were full when we arrived, and I really wasn't sure where to roll the trash to. I did not see any neighbors with their trash cans out so we left the trash cans where they were.
