The overall property, pool, and location were wonderful. Unfortunately, the unit was not clean. Apparently, they had recently done a pest remediation, but hadn't cleaned after that happened. There were dead cockroaches and bugs all over the unit, particularly in the bedrooms... over 10 in the master, 1 in the master shower, and multiple in each of of our kid's rooms.Outside of the bugs, the carpets were really dirty, the bathroom tile grout was black with built up dirt, mold/mildew visible in the shower drains, and there was a massive amount of dust built up on the ceiling fans. The main living space (kitchen, living room, etc.) were better, but the rug and couch still needed a good cleaning. When I informed the staff, we were told that someone could be sent the same day to address these concerns and offered a refund on the cleaning fee, which I appreciated. That said, the unit still didn't feel clean after that service. I would absolutely come back to this area/complex, but would probably not through the same company.

Perfect location!

The condo was just as described and we love how walkable the condo is to the Hilton, the markets, and strolling along Anaehoʻomalu Bay. Having the Hilton passes for my 16 year old son and his friend was a bonus since the pool at Kolea is strict about playing with balls or any pool toys and the Hilton pool is move lively and fun for kids. Communication with Resortica was easy and they were incredibly responsively and timely. The Condo was clean and comfortable and well equipped. My only criticism is that the couch is older and not comfortable. Overall, an excellent place we’d stay again.

Great area and a Beautiful unit

Best area and complex in the Waikoloa beach area. You won't be disappointed. This would have been a 5-star, except the owners have the thermostat set to only go down to 72, and we like it a little cooler to sleep. If 72 is good for you, stay here.

Summer Family Holiday

Excellent location - very short walk to the pool, and to the nearby beach. Unit very nice, everything you could need was there, including beach chairs and umbrella, which was nice. Beds were a bit on the soft side for my liking, but still comfortable. Would definitely consider returning there in the future.

Enjoyable but needs attention

Location is great. Unit needs some TLC but equipt with basics. It was clean for the most part but I have small children and the area rug was really dirty and the bedroom carpets need replacing. Having the Hilton pass was great for the kids. Overall happy with our stay.

Wonderful Complex

We love staying here when we visit The Big Island. Everything was good in unit. Lots of great beach stuff Including wagon and cooler. Shower in master did not work properly and was hard to get hot water. That is why I gave some four stars. Otherwise Kolea is a 5 star community

Great stay at this Kolea Condo!

We had a great experience at this comfortable and well- furnished condo with Hawaiian touches. It was nice to be able to walk to the beach, the Kings and Queens shops, and to be able to head down to the complex pool nearby. We loved being able to head over to the Waikoloa and use the pool pass! Mahalo and we look forward to returning on our next trip!

Perfect location, wonderful home

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful condominium. It was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and perfectly located. We loved having access to the Marriott, Hilton, and the awesome Kolea beach club. The owner was very quickly responsive when we had a question and check in and out instructions were clear and easy. The property was a great location. The kitchen was well appointed as was the entire condo. The pass for the Hilton pool was fantastic! We really enjoyed that perk. The 2nd bathroom was an issue. The water for the tub/shower would not get hot, it was if it had a child lock on the temp control. This caused everyone to shower in the master bathroom. It of course was after hours when this issue came up. This issue should be corrected. We love the condo complex and have rented there for several years but will note this condo and try to avoid booking in the future.

Cleanliness issues

There were cockroaches. It got better as the stay went on so Im not sure if it had something to do with who stayed before. It was also difficult to not have a front closet for shoes and jackets. It would be nice to clean out and organize the storage locker would also be nice. The carpets had stains under the sinks didn’t seems very clean. Nothing major but little things that could be easily improved.

Great location, close walk to the beach and shops. A but far to walk to the Hilton waikoloa for pool pass, but we did visit the pool once which was nice. Condo is well stocked, everything worked well and was as advertised. Would stay again!

Amazing property except for beach

It is an amazing property and the managers were very helpful whenever we needed something or had trouble getting in. Having access to the Hilton is key. The location is quite good given the Queens and Kings shopping centres. I would say the biggest disappointment was the beach - it is simply not good at all. Had green algae bloom for many days and after 1st day, we never used it. There are great public beaches nearby that you can go to. The complex pool is very nice and staffed. I would stay at the property again,

Perfect spot

We were traveling from DC to Hawaii with our three high school/college age children. I was a little hesitant to reserve a place without a view, but I am so glad we stayed here. It was a beautiful condo. Very spacious for five people. We loved using the grill and the kitchen was also well-equipped. We generally enjoy the beach more than the pool and found the beach here very nice. The beach was not crowded and we never had to carry chairs down. We watched every gorgeous sunset from there and saw lots of sea turtles. It's great having the option of the pools at the Hilton as well. Our kids really liked that. It was a fabulous stay.
