Wonderful stay in Venice!

The home is wonderful and the owners were even more remarkable! From our first communication to leaving Venice, Marc & Elisabeth responded right away and assisted in making our first trip to Venice even better than we could have hoped! The photos show the apartment very well! The location is easy to get to either by walking or water. It is in a charming area with rich history. We took the water taxi from the airport to the door of the apartment! When leaving The owners even pre-booked our water taxi for us to ensure we made water taxi to our first train! (The trains had gone on strike so we had to change train accommodations to early morning.) I would absolutely stay here again!

We loved our stay! The apartment is enormous, quiet, cool with the much needed AC on, in a lovely neighborhood and had everything one could need.We loved being out of the fray of the more central area but within a 30 minute walk to everything we wanted to see. It also allowed us to see a lot of areas we might have otherwise missed. Communication was excellent, our hosts were responsive and gracious.Venice itself was magical.

Great apartment in a quieter neighborhood

Loved that it was a block away from the busy street - close enough to get to things quickly but just far away enough to get away from the crowds. Host was super friendly and understanding when we couldn't estimate our arrival time accurately with all the boats. House adorable! The top bedroom is only accessible by a spiral staircase so our kids slept on the couches instead (which they thought was fun!).Felt like a real house they just loaned to us for a couple of days. Thank you for allowing us to borrow your house!

Absolute beauty and accommodation

The property absolutely lives up to the photos. Beautiful, clean, and gorgeous views. The neighborhood has everything you need in a few minutes walk and the host was extremely accommodating and made sure we had all of the information we needed. They even checked in with me on the morning of my departure to make sure I knew about a strike that could impact my travel plans. Amazing!

I never write reviews but this place was magical and the perfect blend of Venices rich history. Close enough to all the activities but far enough to enjoy a residential neighborhood with loads of restaurants and gelato. Looks exactly like the pictures with impeccable architectural details and canal views from every room. We loved returning to this space and the host was amazing!

Amazing!

This property was clean and so unique. We loved the property and the history it held! We want to come back if we come to Venice again! Elisabeth made the check in so easy, waiting for us to arrive! She gave us great information about restaurants and an amazing grocery store in an old theatre that was close. My mom (73), friend (68), husband and 16 year old daughter and myself had plenty of space. My daughter loved the 'attic' bedroom all to herself. The views out the windows were amazing and opening them in the morning let a cool breeze through. The location of the property was close to all the tours we planned and was able to walk within 30 mins to St. Marks. Everything else was closer! Coming back to air conditioning was great after our long and hot days out! Also being away from the severely crowded tourist areas was great too!! One canal over was lively at night and we were able to find drinks very late at night. Al Timon is HIGHLY recommended if you like meat! All in all, we have no complaints and have so many compliments for this location and want to come back!!

Fabulous location, very cool decor

The property is one canal over from the best strip of bars and restaurants in Venice, definitely go to El Timon while there. Extremely well stocked kitchen and a short walk to the grocery store in the converted theatre. Comfy beds and incredibly cool mix of old style palazzo with Asian influences. Elisabeth was a lovely host, great communication, easy checkin & check out. Highly recommend staying here on all counts, except if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because there’s a fair amount of noise from people (staff maybe?) leaving the restaurant below at 3am every night. Otherwise a perfect stay!

Wonderful property!

Gorgeous building with so much character and equipped with all the comforts of home. Location was perfect, minutes away from bars and restaurants and a 15 minute walk to the Rialto bridge. Apartment is in a quiet area in the Cannaregio neighbourhood. Elizabeth is very accommodating and so proud to share Venice with her guests. Highly recommended.

Beautiful apartment and great location

The listing pictures are exactly what you’ll find in this beautiful and personally decorated Venice apartment. My family of five (three kids) loved staying here, and my 10 year-old quickly claimed the special bedroom space at the top of the spiral staircase. It’s a neighborhood location, just far enough away from the tourist crowds, but only a few minutes away from everything: restaurants, water bus stops and many sights. We almost stayed in an apartment right on Grand Canal, and I’m so glad we chose this one instead – it was a perfect place to enjoy both Venice and our family time. The apartment is clean and spacious with plenty of towels, dishes, etc. Once the air conditioning caught up after a cool night, it was also quite comfortable. We ate out, rather than cook while on vacation, but picked up some local fresh foods (and wines) for snacking. We walked upwards of 8.5 miles during our visit, and found this place amazing to “come home” to each day. Marc’s sister, Luna, graciously checked us in, showed us the apartment and gave us great tips about Venice. We took her advice to close the front shutters while we were away during the days, which helped to keep the main floor cool during our hot weather stay. This was our first time to Italy and Venice, so from here we explored all around Venice, as well as Murano, Burano and Torcello. As novices, we played it safe and took a private water taxi from the train station. This was a fun beautiful (and expensive) way to arrive, but for those in our same position to work through logistics, we now realize it’s an easy 15-min. walk from the train station. While we opted for one last beautiful boat ride to the airport, Luna also let us know we had option for a public taxi or bus to the airport from a stop just past the train station. So, lots of options! We loved our stay in this gem of an apartment and would happily both recommend and stay here again. Thank you to Marc and Luna for your hospitality!

Nice Place

The property owners were very responsive. Check in was easy. Apartment is nice and open. Plenty of clean towels, dishes, appliances, TV, stereo, games, books, etc. 3 adult couples stayed there 2 nights with no issues. Water bus was an easy walk. Plenty of restaurants a short walk away as well as grocery. Overall, nice location - away from the busy areas but close enough. One recommendation - locking and unlocking the apt entrance and hall doors with the various keys and lock types was a challenge. Recommend owner better label the keys and verify they work ok- minor issue, but late at night, we had a hard time getting front door unlocked. I would stay here again.

BEAUTIFUL, LIVE LIKE A LOCAL, IN VENICE

This location is a 15 minute walk away from the main tourist attractions. It is a beautiful, clean, historic, large apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, full kitchen, living room and dining room. The owners were extremely welcoming and their hospitality was outstanding. We were able to interact with the locals because of our location. I couldn't think of a better way to experience Venice. When we return to Venice, we will be staying at this same location - a family owned and family run, beautiful place that allows you to live like a local! Simply the best!

Appartement très chaleureux, où le se sent rapidement comme à la maison. Il est bien équipé, la literie est confortable. Avec trois lits doubles, il est parfait pour 6 personnes, avec une décoration asiatique assez sympa. Il est très très lumineux, avec une belle orientation sud-est. assis au bureau, notamment, on a vu sur le canal et le petit pont qui se trouve à l'angle. Baigné de soleil, c'est vraiment un pur plaisir de s'installer et travailler là. L'endroit est calme en journée, parfois un peu plus animé en soirée car l'appartement se situe au dessus d'un restaurant. Canaregio est un quartier très légèrement excentré par rapport à l'axe Piazzale Roma - San Marco, ce qui le place en retrait de l'agitation touristique, mais avec toutes les commodités à 5 mn (magnifique supermarché Despar dans le Teatro notamment). Le soir venu, c'est le spot prisé de la jeunesse pour boire un verre de Spritz le long des quais. Ravi du séjour.

L’endroit est calme et bien situé

Voila un appartement situé au premier étage et sur un coin avec de belles vues sur le canal. L’intérieur de la maison est trés spacieux et rempli de beaux souvenirs de voyages en Asie, Afrique et Amérique du sud. Les chambres ont du charme. La hauteur exceptionelle des plafonds donne de l’espace. L’accueil est chaleureux. On arrive en bateau taxi devant l’immeuble depuis Marco Polo. J’ai vraiment aimé ce habre de paix et d’appel aux voyages.

A really pretty apartment where everything works! Location is excellent - a bit of the beaten track wherefew tourists venture but great restaurants and lively little bar strip on next canal nearby. The woners were very responsive and helpful too. Hightly recommended.

Lovely apartment in Venice

Really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful apartment. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well furnished. Restaurant below apartment was noisier than expected but was terrific place to eat. Apartment was located in a quite neighborhood overall. In the mornings, we were able to find pastries and coffee nearby. Owners were accommodating and helpful and let us check in early after arriving from the airport. The air conditioning was not quite up to keeping it cool in the apartment or we didn't understand how to use the controls properly. Internet worked without any issues. Overall, very pleased with our experience.

The perfect location, spacious for a family or group

We felt like this was the best of all worlds in terms of location in Venice. Away from the crowds but easily accessible by water bus, very walkable and picturesque, great food and nightlife but also quieter than other canals. We have two young kids and the space was good for us. The building and architecture was very special, and there were some nice touches inside. The owners were easy to communicate with, and the basic amenities were all there. Overall, the location was my favorite part and I would stay again just for that.
