The property was located in a small apartment in a larger building that clearly showed its age, but was fairly well maintained. The property was in a very convenient location and was listed for a reasonable rate. Had some quirks you might expect in an older building (old windows, doors not fitting quite into place, small shower) but these were mostly non issues for myself and my partner.

I arrived with a bad back and seating options were not the greatest. Noise was above average but was mentioned in the reviews so it was to be expected. Overall a good experience.

We came to Traverse City to celebrate our anniversary. It was a perfect location. It was small as indicated in the posting but was more than adequate for our needs. Location is perfect for walking to the downtown area and close to the lake, breweries, etc. The host very helpful & responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Loved staying at the 8th Street Flat! So easy to get everywhere from it and having Boardman Lake right next door was such a lovely addition to walk and/or bike! Troy was extremely communicative and easy to contact with any questions and made sure I was happy with the stay. Will definitely stay here again if I come to Traverse City!

The 8th Street Flat at the French Cat was a great homebase for our four night visit to Traverse City. I appreciated the flat was as shown in the listing, already feeling familiar when we arrived. It rained three of the four days we were in TC so we didn't take advantage of the walkability of this location as much as we had originally planned, but it's location is incredibly centralized to all activities you might want to enjoy while in the TC area. Easy access to both Mission and Leelanau peninsulas, Sleeping Bear Dunes, the beach (if it's warm), etc. There is AC and heat, but we didn't require the use of either system. HOT water, cold fridge, and comfortable linens and bed. Plus a Roku enabled tv for relaxing and watching movies in the evening while enjoying a Mammoth G&T. We will definitely try to book here first the next time we are in the area. Thanks again, Troy and visit231!!

I stayed with my girlfriend and it was the perfect size for our one week stay. Very cozy and close to everything we wanted to do while still being nice and quiet during the evening. Will definitely stay again!

Pros: The apartment was a nice walk from downtown TC. Everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was a good air con unit in the living area. The host was very friendly and very quick to respond to messages. Cons: The building was a bit dilapidated, as were parts of the apartment, like the sink and some light fixtures. There was only a mini fridge and no oven or stove. The bathroom was tiny—the shower head was below my husband’s head and didn’t move. Overall, we enjoyed our one-night stay, but it would not be comfortable to stay very long just because of the size and amenities in the unit.

Small unit, exactly as advertised. I'd recommend a pool noodle to stuff the air conditioner gaps rather than a sheet at the top of the window unit and nothing on the bottom gaps. I'd also appreciate another table outside, perhaps a couple chairs. Once there are people at the single table outside, it's not comfortable walking up to a group asking them to make room to sit to have a smoke or drink outside for the five to ten minutes it's going to take. Location was fabulous, minutes from everything from the beaches to the bars and restaurants. I'd stay again!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was exactly as described, and the host was very welcoming and prepared. Check in and out is as easy as it gets as well. Building is older and is on the street so noise is to be expected. All and all it was comfortable and affordable, so no complaints here.

I had a very good time staying at this location. It is a few roads over from all the shops/restaurants downtown. Although the place is small, it is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. The bed is super comfy too! I would definitely recommend!

Just wanted to let you know that we left the property for tonight. We are staying at a hotel. The description posted was very misleading. Last night was so loud with the Side traxx bar blaring music until 2 am then a fight broke out in the street. This morning at 7 am we were awoke to Junior changing tires across the street. I can understand some noise but this was excessive especially with paper thin windows. We are looking for a refund for 1 evening. We will see if we get it.
